Grateful to Sen. Adrienne White-Carden & @BerryforGA for stopping by AIM yesterday! Georgia's first healthcare-focused charter school is off to a strong start thanks to an incredible partnership with @GradyHealth. The future of our healthcare workforce starts here.

A step in the right direction for charter school facilities funding. SB 498 passed the Senate (49-3) with broad bipartisan support, across the ideological spectrum. On to the House for consideration. #gapol
It’s always a good Crossover Day when good legislation like SB 498 gets a bi-partisan vote count like this! Thank you, @VoteClintDixon and @LtGovJonesGA for your support on this bill to ensure charter schools spend more money on kids and less on buildings! @GACharters

Excited to launch the Voters and Scholars initiative. Super voter parents and charter school students who are committed to advocate, engage and VOTE for their interests. Candidate qualifying next week. #gapol
As 100s gathered under the Gold Dome yesterday to ask for increased support for charter school facilities, our VP of Policy and Advocacy @RahnMayo had this to say: "Charter schools serve over 65,000 students in Georgia and we're going to continue to fight for their interests."

Since the Covid Pandemic, virtual school enrollment has increased dramatically. Many families have discovered an optimal academic fit for their children. These students are ‘locked-out’ of school district sports and programs. #gapol
Virtual public school students should not have to choose between academic fit and athletic participation.

School district enrollment is down and school building vacancy rates are up. All at the expense of #Georgia taxpayers. Demand for charters is strong and neglected by status quo politicians. #gapol
With 21,000 students being waitlisted for charter schools, the best use of a school building is a school.

If a child starts behind in reading, the odds of catching up fall fast: • 49% in kindergarten • 29% in first grade • 18% in second • 5% in third We don’t have a third-grade reading crisis. We have an early learning problem. Great take, @ChadAldeman. chadaldeman.com/p/do-not-wai…

The federal government shutdown is outrageous! A continuing resolution is a stopgap, not a solution — useful to avoid shutdowns, but poor for long-term governance. Congress should pass a budget and not another quick fix.

‘Clean Continuing Resolution’ is oxymoronic.
