This is about public servants who are average, middle-class workers and struggling with the rest of us as prices rise. A pay freeze with costs rising is effectively a pay cut, jeopardizing public services, like VA healthcare. We should be investing in the workers who serve our country, and at minimum be treating them with dignity and respect.

Federal workers have been asked to do more with less for far too long. After DOGE, mass firings, and a raise that failed to keep pace with rising costs, Trump now wants to freeze their pay entirely.
As co-chair of the Federal Workforce Caucus, I stood with @RepStenyHoyer, @ChrisVanHollen, & leaders from @AFGENational, @NTEUNews, @NFFE_Union, & @IFPTE today to demand that Congress reject Trump’s federal worker pay freeze.
