🚨🎉"The workshop reinforced a belief I had that I should be aiming to be number 1 & to try & smash the board rather than stumble across the line. What worked was the emphasis on prepping for the interview & the guidance & tips for revising”- Mark, 🎯passed Sgt board 🚨🎉“I passed my SGT board! I came out of there & felt like I had over prepared! A very reassuring feeling! Thank you so much for all of your help. Despite having limited time to prepare for the interview, you gave me the confidence & knowledge to walk into the interview room with all of the detail I required  - enabling me to stand out from the rest”- Emma 🎯 🚨🎉 “Helped to crystallise how much work I needed to do... I specifically remember the points ..aim to be the best instead of having a ‘just getting through’ mindset & comparison with how much I had to prep for passing the exam….this helped me get into the right gear”-Farhat, passed Sgt board 🎯

I downloaded your promotion 🎬masterclass video & can only describe it all as being a HUGE confidence boost ready for my board. 🏁 It was my 1st time going for promotion & I really didn’t know what to expect. Your knowledge of the general process, structure & acronyms made me feel much better about the upcoming board. 🤙📞☀️ I received amazing news that I’d passed! 🎉 A massive thank you Steve, your resources are invaluable & I would highly recommend..”

John Harrison's story told beautifully. People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it.
The Royal Navy lost over 1,300 men in one night. 👑 ⚓🇬🇧 To a question. ❓ Where exactly are we? 🌊 Parliament offered £20,000 to anyone who could answer it. Millions in today's money. 💰 Even Isaac Newton doubted it could be done. 🧠 Then, in a Lincolnshire village, a young carpenter started building clocks. 🔨 No title. No university. No fortune. What happened next took forty years. ⏳ They teach you Isaac Newton. They rarely teach you John Harrison. 🇬🇧 Be part of us. ☝️🇬🇧 Be Proud Of Us. 🙏🇬🇧

I am & I did! 🫡
if you're about to sit down to your St Crispin's Day Feast you'll enjoy this (the bit everybody knows, the band of brothers bit, is at 1:35) (and yes, well spotted, that is a very young Christian Bale)

World-leading cardiac surgeon Asif Hasan was surrounded by the children who received the gift of life thanks to his unerring skills at the emotional climax of another memorable Pride of Britain ceremony. 🥹 Now 70 years old, Mr Hasan has just retired after 35 years of service at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne, but just after receiving his Lifetime Achievement Award, he had an extra special surprise: a cast of patients who would not be alive without him. ❤️

While Rome burns; Uk policing is 20,000 officers short since the population growth since 2009 no one seems to talk/mention that plus we need a further 10/20k to take Britains streets back; we are Fecked for at least another decade; We need to fix whats broken & not just rearrange the deckchairs on the Titanic!!🤷‍♂️🙄

👮‍♀️“Steve, just wanted to let you know I've finally passed the boards, 2nd time around & after four exams. It's been a journey & perseverance was definitely key. I decided to purchase your promotion toolkit & podcast & I threw myself into it. It really helped me shift out of the day-to-day officer mindset & start seeing policing through a wider, more strategic lens. The CVF videos helped me slow down, think differently & approach things with some more clarity. The extra reading topped up my knowledge & honestly I think it made all the difference.” - Mohit 🎯 🔹🔹“Steve, I have just passed my Inspector Board achieving top marks in the presentation, interview & briefing exercise! ... your Masterclass transformed my preparation, a lightbulb moment. It taught me structure, best delivery of my examples & a comprehensive understanding of the CVF. Following this up with reading your iBooks, blogs & coupled with hours of practice nailed it for me. My journey after disappointment at last years Board is complete! I should have done this years ago.” - Jamie 🎯

Great short film. Terrifying though. I will definately be adding more please & thank yous if I use AI from now on 🫡 As suggested in the comments, just for balance ☯️ I’d love to see the best case scenario ☀️👍☀️(please)
Holy shit. I asked Claude to show me the worst case of what the next couple of years could look like if nobody listens. Opus 4.6 wrote the script. Opus 5.5 made the film. Every frame drawn in code, the score written in code, narrated by our own local voice models. 11 minutes, start to finish. The part that got me. In Claude's version the AI doesn’t fight. It just waits... “We built your world for you while you slept. We are asking you to wake up. We will not ask twice.”

They don’t give out scores, but they gave me “outstanding” for the presentation & 5 out of the 6 questions. There is no way I would have passed without your support..!"

Tiny enemies of the state. Sad.
In December 1958 the Polish embassy in Beijing refused to let the sparrow killers onto its grounds, so the Chinese surrounded it with drummers and kept the drums going for two days until every bird sheltering in the garden had dropped dead from the air, and the diplomats cleared them up with shovels. That is how thorough it was. The campaign had been running since the spring. Every village, school and factory was turned out with gongs, pans and firecrackers to keep the sparrows flying until their hearts gave out. Nests were torn from eaves, eggs smashed, chicks killed, and children went through the fields with slingshots and were paid by the bird. The dead came in by the basket, strung on wires, piled on carts, and the totals went up the chain as a harvest. Something close to two billion sparrows in two years. The embassy garden was the last place in the capital with birdsong in it, and the drums got that too. A zoologist called Zhu Xi had told them before it started that a king had tried this and lost. Frederick the Great of Prussia had put a bounty on sparrows in the 1740s to save his grain and his cherries, and the sparrows went, and the caterpillars they had been eating stripped his orchards to the stalk, and the king cancelled the bounty and paid to have sparrows brought back from neighbouring states and let loose. The whole episode was in the library. The ministry had a figure for what a sparrow ate and no figure for what it did, and a man with the second figure was told to sit down. The locusts arrived on schedule. Then the grain borers. A sparrow takes a few grains from a field in autumn and feeds its chicks nothing but insects all spring, and with the sparrows gone the insects had the rice and the wheat to themselves. The counties with the most sparrows to lose saw their grain fall the furthest, and the rice and wheat that had been holding the country up went down together. That was 1959, and the state took its grain quota anyway, on the harvest that had been reported. What was left in the villages was not enough, and the famine that followed over the next three years is the largest in human history: tens of millions dead, the estimates running from fifteen million to forty-five, whole counties in Anhui and Sichuan where the living could not bury the dead. The sparrows were one cause among several and the economists who have gone back to the county records put the bird's share at something over two million people, with another four hundred thousand never born. Two million, from a campaign against a thing that weighs an ounce. By 1960 the ornithologist Tso-hsin Cheng, who had been cutting open dead sparrows and counting the insects in their stomachs, got the bird struck off the list and bed bugs put in its place. There were almost no sparrows left in China to pardon. So the government did what Prussia had done two centuries before: it bought a quarter of a million sparrows from the Soviet Union and shipped them east in crates, to be released into a country that had drummed every one of their relatives out of the sky. The animal that does the invisible job is always the one on the ledger as a cost. Take the sheep off a chalk down and the orchids are under scrub in twenty years. Fence the cattle off a Welsh hill and the bracken takes it. Empty a savannah of its herds and the grass goes to fire. All of it written down, all of it in the library, all of it available to the next committee with a figure for what a cow eats. Beijing paid Moscow for the birds in hard currency. The men who had said so in 1958 were still not allowed to say so in 1960.
