John's mental health struggles are prevalent throughout the comics. Hallucinations, struggles with his emotions and relationships, and addictive personality all point to schizophrenia imo, the bipolar and austim also have some of the same overlapping symptoms --

He has very high highs and very low lows, when he feels he feels HARD and acts on impulse a LOT. When he gets into something he REALLY gets into it- like magic ofc, but also his various phases (punk, hippie, etc). So that's the logic behind those hcs!

But unfortunately he *does* get a lil funky sometimes. However, he definitely loves a good bubble bath when he can have one, and like the snacks, if he's with a partner he WILL steal their fancy soaps and skincare with a particular like for things that are floral or fruity

He's so eyes... The yellow central heterochromia is also a big hc of mine! It was duller/more natural looking when he was a kid but turned a more vibrant yellow when he got infused with demon blood
