Sadly these are no longer up to much snuff, but there's still a robustness to them that puts them a bit above the usual bullhead launchers! ★★☆☆☆ #RateMyBuffers
Poshest buffers I ever did see!

Even a gronk can get launched skywards by the right bad buffer stop. ☆☆☆☆☆ #RateMyBuffers
On a number of occasions Sheffield Parkway played host to locomotives running away from Tinsley TMD. This ensemble piece, which did a runner during 1978, gained sufficient momentum to push 08223 almost onto the carriageway itself. #ShunterSunday 📸 Keith Proctor

Genuinely unsure which of these end of track devices is least effective... At least the gate won't launch a train skywards! ☆☆☆☆☆ #RateMyBuffers
How about a @SignaloftheDay and @RateMyBuffers double bill? Some railway infrastructure that is rarely photographed I'd imagine both images are taken from a warehouse just outside Dagenham dock station

If your train is actually striking a fixed buffer stop then it probably should have been a sliding buffer stop. And the dummy coupler doesn't appear to have engaged, either. ★☆☆☆☆ #RateMyBuffers

A shame about the lack of dummy couplers! ★★★☆☆ #RateMyBuffers

What's good is that these buffer stops have not been improved at all since this little incident... ☆☆☆☆☆ #RateMyBuffers

This buffer stop looks designed to trigger everything to collapse all at once, like a game of mousetrap. ☆☆☆☆☆ #RateMyBuffers
My favourite stop block at work, in a mill that makes Justin Roczniak's favourite engineered wood product, OSB. The tank car contains methylene diphenyl diisocyanate, one of the things you can make out of the poison gas from Bhopal. @GarethDennis @RateMyBuffers

Missing dummy coupler isn't great, but good track materials and decent occupancy for the traffic. ★★★★☆ #RateMyBuffers
Not sure if I’ve submitted this before but have some early morning Holyhead buffer action… #RateMyBuffer @RateMyBuffers @GarethDennis
