I was up last night with a STEMI until 4:30. For my entire career I’ve gone to work the next day with whatever sleep I could get. Not anymore. Today, I slept in and did chart work from home. You can’t fly an airplane or drive a truck if you’ve been up all night. Why should it be different for docs?

(1/2) Our study in @JACCJournals uses causal inference techniques to show that after @usnews TAVR ratings were released in 2020 there was a significant decline in the # of high risk AS patients receiving TAVR driven by lower rated hospitals.

Interventional cardiologists with Georgia Heart Institute recently performed the first cases in the Southern United States using the SpectraWAVE HyperVue Imaging System. ✅YES, but benefit is small (13% RRR; NNT ~500-800) for all comers.

Astonishing results from the DanGer Shock Trial presented at #ACC24 and out in @NEJM today.
In patients with ST-elevation MI with cardiogenic shock, Impella reduced all-cause mortality (45.8% Impella vs. 58.5% control) at 180 days.
