The Pulivarru inscription of Eastern Chalukya Amma I explicitly names Indaparaja of the Mahāratta-vaṃśa as lord of Manyakheta. Yes, the Samangad inscription of Dantidurga (Kolhapur, Maharashtra) states he defeated the invincible Karnata-Bala of the Badami Chalukyas. Early Rashtrakuta records in Maharashtra before the Manyakheta capital shift (under Amoghavarsha I) such as the Ellora and Samangad plates are in Sanskrit. No pure Kannada inscription from that phase in Maharashtra is attested in standard sources.
