We've been working on our Twitter conference @OHBMequinoX since last year & we had no idea how timely it ended up being. Amidst all of the weirdness, I am excited that #OHBMx will go on as planned: a full 24 hours of neuroscience "talks" right here in your pocket, this Friday

We are thrilled to announce two new #OHBMX keynote tweeters: Lauri Parkkonen @Lauri_Parkkonen and Thomas Yeo @bttyeo! If you want to be part of this 24-hour #neuroscience Twitter conference as well, submit your abstract at ohbmx.org by 28.2. (that is, this Friday)!

Please let me emphasize: there are TWO DAYS left for submitting your abstract for #OHBMX, the coolest #neuroscience Twitter conference of the year. So, just navigate to ohbmx.org and submit!

Show your love to your tweeps by submitting an abstract to #OHBMX! It's an introvert scientist's dream: anyone on twitter can follow the conference and you can present from your own sofa. Also, pretty pretty brains 😍🧠
Feel free to DM me if you have questions about the concept!
Still accepting submissions! If you haven't participated in a Twitter Conference before and you don't know what to expect, you can check out #OHBMX FAQ ohbmx.org/faq/ and 2019 #brainTC FAQ braintc.aalto.fi/2019/?page_… You can also DM or email us with any questions you have!

. @RealBrainTC It was super fun being a part of #brainTC team! A big shoutout to all the presenters. With 61 talks (400+ tweets), over 19 hours and NO carbon footprint, this has been an intense but satisfying twitter neuromarathon! Now it's time to ....

6. Conclusion: We suggest that conceptual implicit memory can influence the decisions driven by explicit memory. Whereas, memory retrieval varies as a function of the depth of neural processing that takes place at the time of encoding (Tulving). #brainTC

5: Results 2: The fluency effect was independent of the repetition of the stimuli & influenced the encoding strategies, however, the FN400 potential appeared to benefit by repetition. #brainTC

4: Results 1: The FN400 ERPs correlated with the behavioral indicators of recognition & observed to be driven by conceptual implicit memory during encoding. A significant fluency effect was also observed. #brainTC

3. Method: We conducted 2 similar EEG experiments (one with familiar but novel pictures, other with non-familiar complex geometrical designs aka fractals), each with two sessions; a study (Encoding) session & a test (Recognition) session. #brainTC

2. Does the FN400 effect index familiarity? Or does it stem from implicit memory?
We tested several hypotheses regarding the cognitive processes reflected by FN400 ERP (300-500 ms) & fluency (200-400 ms post stimulus), which is linked to implicit. @JefferyJonesPhD

Replying to @RealBrainTC @Laurier
1. There is controversy regarding how familiarity operates in order to support recognition as being an expression of explicit or implicit memory. It's a challenging issue to validate the neural signature of familiarity. Previous work links the FN400 ERP with familiarity.
