The most important line here isn’t in the analysis. It's: “Many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.)” Man, if you’re living in a world where you think “many” people were focused on a Fox News celebrity the day before the midterms, you need to take a break from the internet. I'd prefer a vice president who doesn't know what a Fox & Friends co-host is saying from one moment to the next -- or, even better, doesn't care.
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

Bo French will forever go down as the reason why Republicans lost in the 2026 Midterm elections.
Tonight wasn’t the night our campaign had hoped for. To everyone who stood alongside us, gave your time, and believed in what we set out to accomplish, thank you. I will never forget your dedication, your friendship, and, above all, your love for the great state of Texas. As Thomas Jefferson once wrote, “I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past.” My dreams for Texas and America remain undiminished, as does my faith in the indomitable spirit of the people of the Lone Star State. I’m not going anywhere — because we have work to do. Onward.

Those blaming Abbott for what they are calling the "Indian invasion" (mind you, only 1% of the Texas pop is Indian) for inducing high tech companies to his state, are loony. Should a governor not attract businesses, not want job growth, or is it only okay if said businesses promise to only hire white people? The blue wave had zero to do with Indians. Look in the mirror for the real reasons.

Bad news is we lost senate seats that won't be winnable for six years. Gut wrenching. Here's the good news: in terms of electoral prospects, this is super easy to fix. Trivial, even: 1. End the tariffs now. If the Admin wants to make a case for a few targeted ones for bad actors, fine. But the broad tariffs must stop. 2. Either go balls to the wall on Iran to finish the regime, or pull out of the war. Do more limited stuff like "midnight hammer" if Iran tries to rebuild its nuclear program, but that's it. 3. Do not back off the stuff that IS going well, and a lot is. Crime at record lows. Border under control. ATF and 2nd Amendment Section doing great work. Government employment reduced. Etc. Do not learn the wrong lessons from what was an inflation-related election blowout and undermine the things that are working. 4. Finally, and this one may be the hardest for Trump: limit the stupid distractions.

The funny thing about this election is that it's obvious people just fucking hated Republicans and policy didn't matter at all but people will still try to make policy arguments based on these results The moderates did overall perform better by a few percentage points (since moderates always perform better to an extent, no matter what the DSA and MAGA stooges want to pretend) but Gina Hinojosa ran an explicitly anti-data center campaign and David Crowley wants to stick his dick in a USB port and they both won, so I don't think you can draw policy conclusions for this on the Democratic side On the other hand, the message that the GOP should stop being such rightoid psychos seems pretty explicit.

Sorry, not sorry, @UMich, my account may be heavily suppressed on X at the moment, but I’ll use whatever little reach I have left and I’m absolutely going to support @camhigby, @basedinmalibu and @teameffujoe and share this video to keep it alive and online. That insane student of yours deserves to have the book thrown at her. She decided her future the second she violently laid a hand on people and threatened to kill them. Zero mercy for these pro Palestine mobs. There should be zero tolerance for it.

Stephen Paul Redic is his name. He's a leftist "poet."
An 18-year-old stood his ground at the polls in New Hampshire today and was assaulted for it. He stayed calm. The left got violent. Don’t cede the ground, show up to the polls. Your vote helps us outnumber these people.

Fascinating. I didn't see an article in the @nytimes asking who is Dr. Sarah Jukaku, Abdul El-Sayed's wife? This is giving misogynistic, Jewish puppet string vibes, and it's gross.

Hi @UMich i just want to be absolutely explicitly clear that NO, this video of your student committing Assault & Battery, resisting arrest, making death threats, & engaging in Anti Semitism ON CAMPUS is NOT coming down. In fact, on behalf of @camhigby & others who were assaulted & threatened on your campus with your consent, & protection, I’m going to reshare it here. And I’m going to tag some friends with reach to make sure it keeps going. Here. On telegram. On facebook. On Rumble. On YouTube. On Truth Social. I am Jewish. I thought the rock bottom would be when they told us to support a guy with a giant SS tattoo on his tits. But now they demand that we support a man who campaigned his hatred of Jews and justified a terrorist attack attacking a Jewish preschool in Michigan.
I’m not Jewish but my family is and I can tell you we are all DONE. Not a dime. I’ve unsubscribed from every Dem fundraiser and told them exactly why.

Leftists are mentally unstable. That kid should have sent him flying.
Calmest guy at the polling place today in NH was the 18-year old that got swung at. We want conversation, not violence!

The University of Michigan does not name a valedictorian so no, he was not he valedictorian of his class.
In 2007, Abdul El-Sayed was the valedictorian at the University of Michigan, where he delivered the student commencement address alongside former President Bill Clinton. After hearing him speak, Clinton reportedly approached El-Sayed and asked why he was going into medicine instead of politics, encouraging him to consider running for office. Nearly 20 years later, El-Sayed is running for the U.S. Senate in Michigan.
