Mon is definitely talking about Luthen here. She is clearly still horrified by his killing of Tay Kolma among many other things. I love that parts of this 2018 book manage to be congruent with Andor, and it being from Mon’s POV really justifies the omission of Luthen/kleya.
Andor makes this more true. And this is probably the closest Mon will get to acknowledging Luthen or Saw positively. She seems to appreciate them with time because the book starts with her releasing a strongly worded letter condemning Saw Gerrera, but when he’s gone she says this
Luthen erasure adds to his story imo. They hated Luthen and were content to erase him from history. Luthen knows and says as much. he “will never have an audience, or the light of gratitude”. He’s condemned in life and in death. And he knows it.

im so delusionally convinced that we will see *Home One* split into 3 seperate ships in Ahsoka S2. Its about to be destroyed then boom the reveal will be epic for normies and lore-ies alike.

The Mon Calamari ships are organic-looking but also in good condition and clearly high-tech. According to Richard Marquand, George Lucas actually had to explain to him that by Return of the Jedi, the Rebels weren't really that ragtag anymore. They finally had access to some top-of-the-line technology now, and that's part of how they win:
"I had this concept of the rebel briefing room as being a rather beaten up meeting place, sort of like Britain's last stand in 1940 before the Americans joined the war. Norman thought this was terrific, too. But when we showed it to George, he said, 'No, no, no, you’ve got it completely wrong. That isn’t what I intended at all. Your concept of how the rebels win is not the way they win. They win because they’ve got the best equipment. They’ve gotten themselves all together.' "

Not to be a pedant, but weren't Mon Cal cruisers each unique and hand-crafted to at least a certain extent?
The claim of D'Qar being used strictly POST-yavin from Caluan Ematt fits with Saw Gerrera being extremely vigilant at rooting out spies, alliance or otherwise. SW.com calls it a "remote temporary base". Also "input breaker key //7567" means Rex was involved.
Im not great with timelines but depending on when Saw first meets Rex, it seems very possible Rex was the one who gave the Partisans the intel on the location of the bunkers on D'Qar. They might have had a more intimate relationship than we thought...Total @Onderon_rebels victory
I’m not familiar with the other people named here but Mon entrusting the writing of “the rebel files” to someone other then Erskin reads very differently post-Andor. She might not trust Erskin, (or maybe any of her old staff) fully cuz he spied for Luthen…
Today I learned about a continuity error from TLJ. Kylo is accompanied by 2 TIE/SF starfighters when he destroys the bridge of the *Raddus*. However in the subsequent shot, right before they are gunned down, they change into standard TIE/FO fighters.

Glad to finally pick up this book. I kinda like that I’m late to it because I get to look at it through the lens of everything that has come after it (ex Andor). See how it all fits.
This is so fascinating to me; the intimacy of this kind of imperial army operation. The horror *is* the point. They could use orbital bombardment, or tie bombers, but sending the imperial army in is a great way to pacify the local population and your own army.

The way Luthen pretends to flee just in order to trick the Imperial captain into turning up the tractor force so that the dish pulls the metal chaff right into itself … quite literally using “the tools of my enemy to defeat them”
