Let's talk about what its like to "fall off". I've been thinking about this a lot recently, not because im concerned about my popularity, but more because of what I get to see that others don't. When you're new to streaming and you gain some new followers, its exciting, you're building towards something. You tell yourself not to focus on the numbers and just focus on the content but you can't help but feel proud when you wrap up a stream and see you have like 20 new followers and a subscriber or two. And then time becomes a blur and you're in the future, you've gained a large following, you moved into your own apartment, you're peaking and you don't know it. Then a couple years go by, then a few more years go by, you do exciting things and meet cool people, travel to conventions, companies fly you to Korea, America, all over, you're enjoying yourself and realize its been months since you last thought about "the numbers". Then more time goes by, its been almost 15 years of streaming. Your viewership isn't what it used to be, your sub count is "ok", and every time you go live you gain some new followers but lose some old inactive ones, or bots that get deleted, etc. Now you're in a one step forward to steps back situation. Well, I am at least. The way content is done isn't my style. Im chill, I like to be support roles in games, mentor, I dont have an ego... aka im boring. I want someone to see what I do as helpful or interesting, not loud and obnoxious. But it's difficult when you're the quiet helpful background character. People you've helped either dont care or forgot, its not their fault. Anyways none of this exactly leads to motivation, but none of it has broken my spirit either. Folks like to try to stab at "falling off" as an insult but its just a situation, everyone peaks and everyone comes down.
