@SeanTPendergast @SethCPayne @LopezOnSports @regadetula @ClintStoerner @RealRonTHESHOW My Grandpa passed away yesterday. And for the last couple years since he retired we’d drive around and listen to each of you when I was off work. He loved the station, teams and this city

#Chiefs place Josh Simmons on IR xitter.cf/i/broadcasts/1AKEmvpRb…
We about to to talk about this Josh Simmons situation on SHOWandBK with Serda on @ClubFoolish live @BKSportsTalk @StephenSerda

I deleted an earlier post about Josh Simmons for clarity. After relistening to the press conference (I was live-tweeting before), the bolded part needs clearer wording. Burkholder said all parties (the team's medical staff, Josh, his agent, Andy Reid and Brett Veach) agreed on his IR stint. Here's the corrected version:
Chiefs head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder says the team feels LT Josh Simmons has plateaued in his recovery from his back injury. Simmons consulted with his family yesterday to figure out next steps, which is why he missed practice for personal reasons. Burkholder said all parties agreed that Josh should go on injured reserve.
Gotta love Houston
Man I hope everyone finds the Burkholder presser and listens.. because he definitely didn't say SIMMONS decided he would go on IR... he said everyone decided it was the best move
I guess Rick came up here and lied too… and to those initial reports that said Josh decided, he clearly said… everyone decided IR was the move… but I’m sure someone has a source that says this is about more than a back injury
The #Chiefs, when they have a health situation that requires more context, send out head trainer Rick Burkholder to explain it to the media.
He did that today with LT Josh Simmons.
Here’s his full explanation:

I've got a lot of thoughts. We'll discuss it tonight on the show w/ @RealRonTHESHOW & @StephenSerda
But why go up there and lie for months (Andy and Pat) with a fake injury, knowing if a cover up got out (and it would) that they would get crushed and in trouble with the NFL. To now come out after just acknowledging Monday of the process for the injury... they wouldn't
Yeah, you're a homer... and I ain't even made at you.... the only thing offensively the Texans do better is CJ and Nico... only Texans homers would argue different about the weapons... they're O-line isn't great, but it isn't awful like the Texans... CJ helps them a lot

We see it different for sure. Both OLines were bottom 10 at that time. And are you sure that Monkin was the better playcaller? Because if you compare the Texans furst 3 games vs the Browns first 4 (when you made the original post), the Texans averaged more total yards, the same TD's, and more passing yards. And their yards per carry were about the same with the Texans at 3.5 vs the Browns at 3.6 and that was WITHOUT Nico Collins for two of the three games.
Speaking of weapons, ours are better, period. Nico had 75 yards in week 1 and Denzel Boston only averaged 71 yards per game as of week 4. Wanna compare KC Conception? OK, he averaged 36 yards per game with zero TD's. Hutch avg 40 yards per game. And for WR3, Browns had Jeery Jeudy trash at 15 yards per game vs Jaylin Noel at 34 yards per game.
Tight Ends? Well Schutlz also beats Fannin too. Running backs? Browns have Judkin's who I believe is better than either one of our RBs. But ultimately Judkins was only averaging 3 yards per carry which is where Woody was at so it's a push.
So yeah we see football differently. Because you don't see it at all. You're an emotional hot-take artists who just says whatever.
OH MY
Never thought I'd say this, as someone who worked there 20 years ago and once loved the place, but it's time to shut down The Galleria. chron.com/news/houston-texas…
