Republicans have improved in Polk today. Need to sustain it.
Republicans are underperforming in Polk County. We have a voter registration advantage of 60,000 in the county and it went R+30 four years ago.

Ok, story time. On Father's Day 2016 I was out to brunch with a friend in Park Slope and I brought my then new puppy Stevie Nicks. Midway through the meal a young woman and an older man were seated next to us. He was wearing a bucket hat and sunglasses. After a few minutes they both start asking me questions about my dog, then start petting her, then start playing with her, then ask if we can combine tables. Thought it was kind of forward but whatever. We talk a bunch about pet ownership and about how bad they both want a dog but can't due to work travel. In fact, they had just gotten back from a business trip. I tell them they should just do it. It was all very pleasant. Throughout the meal the man didn't look up much and when he spoke it was mostly in hushed tones. Just thought he was shy or quiet, or maybe sick. Its New York so you encounter weird stuff all the time. Until, for just a brief moment, his voice broke out in excitement. I looked at my friend a bit puzzled, he looked back at me. The voice was unmistakeable. It was in that moment that we both realized we were having brunch with SIR PATRICK STEWART. He could tell he was outted. But we played it cool, he played it cool, we all ate together and then went our separate ways. I later realized the "business travel" he had just come back from was filming Logan. I often forget about the encounter but a few years later there were a bunch of pieces that were written about him and his wife and their love of fostering pitbulls and it made me happy. Can't help but feel like my encouragement played a small, small part in their decision to do so. Anyway, rest easy Sir Patrick Stewart. My dad was the biggest Next Generation fan and I'll always treasure how Captain Picard loved my dog.

James wants to stop sex predators and Chinese nationals from buying American babies through surrogacy. That shouldn’t be controversial. José wants abortion until the moment of birth and seems to be ok with registered sex offenders buying kids.
James Uthmeier wants big government to tell you when and how you can start your family. I believe those decisions belong to you, not politicians. The choice in this race is clear: an Attorney General who wants to control your personal decisions or one who respects your freedom to make them. miamiherald.com/news/politic…

Here’s why Broward folks dislike IPEV (in person early voting). There’s a line 11am Friday morning. Not because of a big crowd. Nope. There’s not enough voting machines and several are down. Been an issue all week.

Democrats love doing polls, Republicans hate them. Look at this data below. It’s why I look at early voting data. Polls are often worthless.
“After more than 85,000 phone calls and nearly 50,000 text messages, a potential problem emerged. Democrats were far more enthusiastic about taking the poll than Republicans were.” washingtonpost.com/politics/…

As someone who has been to Broward early voting places over the years, NOBODY wants to run the gauntlet of candidates and shills waving voter guides and then wait in line to vote. That’s why ED is so big—no gauntlet and short wait times at your local polling place.

NEW: Yesterday, @CalMatters published a sympathetic profile on a “Fresno father” who was “suddenly” deported by ICE to MX. He told the outlet he’s not a criminal & doesn’t know why he was targeted. However, I’m told by federal sources that he has been deported from the U.S. five times before, he has an active deportation order, he has pending felony aggravated assault charges from November 2025, he has decades old convictions for DUI w/ bodily injury & negligent discharge of a firearm that resulted in prison sentences, and he admitted in a consensual interview w/ ICE that he’s been a member of the Fresno Bulldogs street gang. I’m told his real name is LUIS ALBERTO ARREGUIN-VILLA, and he was previously deported from the US in 1994, 1996, 1998, 2003, and 2005, and that he admitted in an interview that he last crossed illegally into the U.S. in 2005 near San Ysidro, CA. Under federal law, illegal re-entry after deportation is a felony via 8 USC 1326. He has illegally re-entered at least five times. None of this context appears in the Cal Matters report. calmatters.org/justice/2026/…

Just remember, soldiers will act on top secret intelligence knowledge, and athletes will throw games, but no pundits, media, or pollsters would EVER create fake narratives to crash the prices of the people who are going to win. Just NEVER.

All of us at Marvel Studios are deeply saddened by the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. Sir Patrick brought Professor Charles Xavier to life with extraordinary grace, intelligence, and humanity, defining the character for generations of fans, from "X-Men" to "Logan" to "Avengers: Doomsday." He was a singular talent, a generous collaborator, and a true gentleman. Our hearts go out to his wife Sunny, his children, his friends, and the countless fans around the world whose lives he touched with his art.

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026) Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love. We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway. America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire. His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen. Ian McKellen 29 October 2026 Photo: University of Huddersfield

There are moments that you just cherish and thank God that you were able to experience them. This was one of them. Standing on the set of the Borg Ship, watching Patrick Stewart as Jean Luc Picard say goodbye to his friends. To watch it on the screen is so heartfelt, to be there and see this wonderful actor say these words to his friends it just hit harder. There was so much weight on the set and those weren't just amazing lines that Terry had wrote, they felt real. It was the words said between friends that had been on a long journey together, that was coming to a close. You will ALWAYS be our Captain. You did everything right.

“Jean-Luc, wherever you go, we go.” This actor and this character taught me so much not only about humanity and aspirations for us as human beings but what controlled passion and focus can do to bring about positive change in this world and within ourselves. Truly a sad day. 🕊️ Rest In Peace, Captain. 🙏

Patrick was one of those icons who we somehow all took for granted would always be with us. I grew up as a fan, and was later gifted the privilege of becoming a colleague and friend, working with him for many years on “American Dad!”, “Family Guy”, and “Ted”. He was that rare actor who could take any bit of dialogue and elevate it, making a good writer sound great, and a great writer sound masterful. He was also as humble as they come. I remember exchanging emails with him a number of years ago when he was beginning day 1 of a new film. He commented to me that he always walked onto a new set feeling like the biggest novice there. My stunned reaction was the same as anyone’s would be. I said, “Patrick, if you feel that way, the rest of us are screwed.” We have lost a legendary actor today, and for many of us, a good friend. He will be deeply missed by the entire planet.

We lost one of the greats of stage and screen today. And, in my book, a tremendous friend and man. I learned so much from him. I will miss you, Patrick Stewart, all of my days. @mang0ld
