We make as much hay as possible instead of silage. It requires much less plastic, less transportation (as you’re not carrying weight of the water) & it is easier for rolling out onto the pasture when feeding cattle outside

It’s also better for pasture itself as cut grass stays on ground longer, protecting living plants underneath when they’re at their most vulnerable 🌱
