He’s talking tough like he has a pardon in his back pocket already.
BASH: Do you see it as your job as attorney general to represent anyone in the administration being investigated by Congress? BLANCHE: Wait, do I see it as my job? The Constitution sees it as my job! BASH: So if Hegseth faces impeachment, would you represent him? BLANCHE: Well, yeah
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The Constitution does not mention the Attorney General or assign any duty to represent administration officials in congressional investigations or impeachments. The position was created by the Judiciary Act of 1789. constitution.congress.gov/constitution/ justice.gov/archives/offic… archives.gov/milestone-docu…

When you are in a cult it's hard to come up with your own thoughts about things as shown in this video.
Duffy: The war shot inflation up because of diesel prices and people could not – Hurt: Diesel prices are up for a lot of reasons. Duffy: Okay, so the war was not the issue, okay. Well, we won’t believe the exit polls. Hurt: all the exit polls do not list the war— Duffy: It was inflation which the war exacerbated. Hurt: And traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, oil traffic is basically back where it was. You have a decades’ long assault by Democrats on the oil and gas industry in this country which is a real problem. Duffy: Of course. Hurt: You have the war in Russia and Ukraine, they’re blowing up refineries, these are all problems

Democrats in Congress need to govern the same way we campaigned: 1) Show up and listen to our constituents, including those who didn’t vote for us, about the issues that matter most. 2) Write, debate, and pass legislation to lower the cost of living, while holding this administration accountable for the chaos and corruption. 3) Put working Americans, service members, and military families first.

I wonder if Speaker Mike Johnson knows he lost the midterms or was he too busy changing the spark plug on his lawn mower?

Worth remembering today: There is a committed industry of election deniers, motivated by politics/money, devoted to shouting "fraud!" They will seek to flood the zone today, to create the impression that there is a lot of smoke in the hope you might believe there is a fire.

Enough. The world should not have to beg us not to be monsters. Vote to rein in this leadership. Vote for checks and balances. Vote for accountability. Vote for the rule of law. Vote for democracy.
You know things are bad when Ukrainian families from Kyiv are begging the citizens of the United States to vote Blue in the Midterms to save their lives because they know that Trump is a Dictator that stands with Russia and cares nothing about them. They say this isn’t who America is and I think most of us agree with them.

It is going to be something beautifully poetic that the man who is coming to take Senator Tom Harkin’s seat back is only there because of the work he did on the Americans with Disabilities Act. We have 1 day left to make it happen, Iowa. Let’s do this!

Life in the Hudson Valley has only gotten harder and more expensive over the past four years — as career politicians leave families like mine, like ours, behind. I’m running to fix that. I won’t let anyone or anything stand in the way of the better, more affordable future we deserve. It would be the privilege of a lifetime to fight for you in Congress, and I would be honored to earn your vote tomorrow.

It's been two years. Has Trump and the Republican's even started to work on energy prices?
10
We're tired of Trump and the Republican's lying to us.

We can't wait for you any longer sir.

Trump has been lying about his non-existent healthcare plan forever. This is him in September of 2020 lying to the American people that a plan is ready. The Republicans haven't done a thing on healthcare.

You could feel the hope, the energy, and the belief that a brighter future for Ohio is possible tonight in Columbus. A future where families can afford to get ahead, our communities thrive, and public servants put people first. Ohio is ready for a new chapter. And together, we can build a state where everyone has the chance at a great life.

"The difference between a Biden win and a Trump win in 2020 was about 42,000 votes across three states. Trump had no legitimate basis to cry fraud— but the razor thin margins certainly didn’t make things less ambiguous. But if we can deliver a blue tsunami on Election Day, then Trump’s inevitable post-election lawsuit hurricane will likely be reduced to a puddle. It’s one thing to litigate 42,000 ballots. It’s another thing entirely to sustain losses in Texas, Kansas, Ohio, North Carolina, Michigan, Maine, and so on— and yet still pretend that you were robbed. There is merit to the idea that the election results can be 'too big to rig.' Let’s aim for that." plus.briantylercohen.com/p/a…

Mike Lawler, the vulnerable Republican from NY-17 is swiftly losing key support in his district. Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving guy.
Mike Lawler is obsessed with attacking Chuck Schumer's support for the Jewish community. I live in NY-17. I'm voting tomorrow. I didn't want to go there. But he's begging for it on election eve. Let's unpack his record. Now, how did Mike Lawler become Rockland GOP chair? He endorsed an open antisemite for county legislator. James Foley ran the "Block the bloc" blog and the "Block the Block Vote" Facebook page targeting Hasidic Jews. He campaigned on "Ramapo Mafia" signs. He threatened to assault Orthodox Jews. At the time, Foley was known as the most radicalized anti-Orthodox voice in Rockland County. Lawler endorsed him anyway, calling Foley his "good friend" and a "trusted voice of change and hope." Then Foley returned the favor. He took the Rockland GOP to court. The judge threw out the bylaw. Days later, Lawler was able to become chair. He owes his chairmanship to one of the most vicious antisemites in Rockland County. Then there's the 2019 "Storm is Brewing" video, condemned by both parties as antisemitic for warning of a Hasidic "takeover." Back then Lawler was Deputy Supervisor of Orangetown and a GOP operative. Mike was accused of being part of the planning group. The email names "Mike L." right in it. His ally Brett Yagel was ruled by a judge to have discriminated against Jews when he was mayor of Pomona. Lawler endorsed him for Assembly not once but twice. That's the résumé of the man attacking America's highest-ranking Jewish elected official for not doing enough to fight antisemitism. The man who wrote a book on antisemitism, calling out both the far right and the far left. The man whose great-grandmother was gunned down by the Nazis with 30 of her relatives, ages three months to 83. Someone should tell Mike Lawler that repeating one Yiddish word, "shanda," over and over doesn't make you the defender of Jews. It makes you the actual Shanda. Sit this one out, Mike.
