The role of Caribbean gangs in the international dynamics of illicit drug trafficking has become increasingly significant. Once operating primarily at the local level, they have evolved into key nodes within transnational organized crime networks, carrying out activities related to the safeguarding and storage of illicit drug shipments, the surveillance of transshipment points, and their transportation across jurisdictions.
