It’s out! I am very excited to share the exciting result of a very fruitful collaboration between the ReischauerLab & @verhagenjudith research groups spearheaded by two most talented PhD students @CRuijmbeek at the Erasmus and twitterless Filomena Housley. A tweetorial! 1/18
Great piece of work! Always remain sceptical to your model!
The same cell identity can conceal a different developmental history. Our new preprint connects cellular ancestry, fate timing and gene expression in mouse embryos and stem cell-derived embryo models. doi.org/10.64898/2026.10.06.…

A few months ago I was browsing google images looking at p53 western blots in the SK-OV-3 cell line for an unrelated project. I noticed an unusual western blot hosted on Thermo Fisher's website which I posted on social media. Usually I just post weird blots to PubPeer. 👇
I don't even want to think about how much time, money and valid hypotheses were wasted. Luckily, in the zebrafish field, most antibodies need to be tested and validated anyway. "More than 18k questionable images found in ab catalogues of 15 companies" nature.com/articles/d41586-0…
Still doing RealTime PCRs? Annoyed by how often they remain inconclusive, cost a lot of time and sybr green? Us to! Thats why we combined the latest algorithms for qPCR primer design (YES there is more than Primer3 + PrimerBlast out there) in one simple to use app, PrimeRL!
A ready to use windows installer is available for download from our HiDrive. my.hidrive.com/lnk/eLCQKnl5p…
PrimeRL is final, free and open source. We just published on GitHub. github.com/svenreischauer/Pr… . I particularly recommend it to the zebrafish community that chronically suffers from established primer lists and isogenic snp free lines.
In the end it offers you to see which condition excluded which amount of primers generated by primer3 and one click allows you to export your picked pair into an order sheet.

Please share! We have another fully funded PhD open in the lab. If you are interested working with us, you can find the details here: uni-giessen.de/de/ueber-uns/…
Always great to visit Hamburg! Even better on a sunny day combined with some great science @dgk_org. Thanks for the invitation to present our latest on heart regeneration! @CPI_ExStra #DGKHerztage2024 #heartregeneration

Very balanced thread going over the latest significant developments in the IL-11 field including our work. Highly recommended!

Zebrafish lacking Il-11 receptor function display severely compromised heart, fin, and scale regeneration, which if paralleled in humans, could limit the use of IL-11 antibodies to treat disease or slow aging science.org/doi/10.1126/scia…
