solid list. Drunken Master II as number one makes sense — that factory fight is pure Jackie at his peak, mixing real skill, chaos, and comedy without missing a beat. The ladder and mall ones are close behind for me too.
Jackie Chan doesn’t just fight his opponents; he turns everything around him into a weapon. From incredible martial arts to creative choreography, these are his 5 best fight scenes, ranked.
5. The Ladder Fight — Police Story 4: First Strike (1996)
Jackie takes on multiple opponents using a metal ladder, turning an ordinary construction tool into one of the most creative weapons in action cinema. His timing, agility, and ability to control the ladder while defending himself make this fight special. It’s a perfect example of why his choreography is so difficult to imitate.
4. The Playground Fight — Police Story 2 (1988)
What makes this fight brilliant is how Jackie uses playground equipment to outmaneuver several attackers. He moves between bars, swings, and obstacles while defending himself against opponents armed with pipes. The environment becomes part of the choreography, making this far more entertaining than a conventional street fight.
3. Jackie Chan vs. Benny “The Jet” Urquidez — Wheels on Meals (1984)
This is one of Jackie’s finest martial arts duels. Benny’s powerful kicks and direct fighting style contrast beautifully with Jackie’s speed, footwork, and unpredictable movements. Neither fighter makes the other look weak, and their exchanges feel remarkably convincing. It’s a showdown between two completely different fighting styles.
2. The Mall Fight — Police Story (1985)
The final confrontation delivers incredible hand-to-hand combat, dangerous stunts, and Jackie using his surroundings to gain the advantage. The famous pole slide is unforgettable, but the fighting that follows is just as impressive. The commitment to practical stunts makes the entire sequence feel incredibly dangerous.
1. The Final Fight — Drunken Master II (1994)
This is Jackie Chan at his absolute best. Facing skilled opponents in a steel factory, he combines drunken boxing, unpredictable movements, spectacular kicks, and perfectly timed comedy. The choreography keeps escalating, and every exchange feels different from the last.
What puts this at number one is the sheer complexity of the fight. Jackie makes an incredibly demanding sequence look entertaining, chaotic, and effortless, blending martial arts and physical comedy without sacrificing the intensity.
For me, the final fight in Drunken Master II takes the crown because it showcases everything that made Jackie Chan a legend. Few actors can combine technical skill, creativity, comedy, and physical commitment at this level.
