I erroneously sent ₦53k to one Fatima Aliyu Mohammed, instead of my daughter Fatima Aliyu Nuhu. It was an Opay account, which means it was also a phone number. I called the girl, she seemed to be waking up from her sleep. After greetings I told her that I sent her money in error. She said ok let me check. She called me back and asked me to send my account number. I told her to keep ₦3k and send ₦50k. Within seconds she sent the money. I didn't know her or her address and she could have made recovering the money difficult or even impossible. Even my daughter said the money could not be recovered under this economic hardship. She is such a great girl. β€” Dr Aliyu Nuhu.

My course mate, who has been jobless since we left university, has been squatting in my house since February this year. As God would have it, he got a job in June after I had helped him with job suggestions and accommodation. Recently, he moved out of my house because he had rented a new place for himself and bought some home appliances. When I visited him yesterday for the first time, he said something that left me feeling uncomfortable....

6 Years Later! We are still dealing with Insecurity, hunger, poverty, lack of proper health care and the highest level of corruption and impunity. The saddest part is that we are even more divided as a people at a time when we should be most united. I hope one day we truly realize the power that we have as citizens and stop allowing a few selfish individuals destroy the success and prosperity of the majority of us. Till then, ✌🏾 and 🀍

In April, I bought TWO cars paid in full cash. A 2023 G-Wagon and a 2025 GLE 53 AMG. πŸ˜‚ At the time, I thought I wanted both. But after buying them, I started thinking differently. As a first-time car owner, I had to consider maintenance, running costs and whether owning both cars actually made sense. So I made a decision. I sold the G-Wagon, kept the 2025 GLE 53 AMG, and shipped it to Nigeria around the end of August/early September. And the funny part? πŸ˜‚ I used some of the money from the G-Wagon to buy my Rolex Platona watch. Here’s what I learned: Being able to afford something and being willing to maintain it are two different things. Some cars are worth owning for the experience, but that doesn’t automatically make them good investments. Sometimes, the smartest financial decision isn’t buying more. It’s knowing what to let go of. I could have kept both cars just to say I owned two luxury cars. But what would be the point if I wasn’t getting enough value out of owning both? Luxury is nice. Financial sense is nicer. πŸ₯‚
CONGRATULATIONS TO ME. πŸ–€πŸ₯‚ A Mercedes-Benz GLE 53 AMG 2025. First in the industry. πŸ‘‘ If you told me a few years ago that I’d be here today, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. I’m just grateful that I didn’t give up on myself. Thank you, God. πŸ™β€οΈ

It's Day 10 (English) of 10 reasons you should avoid trying to force your way into Europe through the back door. If for some reason you manage to make it past the Sahara Desert and the Mediterranean Sea into a European country, you will eventually realise it actually was never worth all that hassle. #NoToLibya

This is a really interesting bug, yet kinda simple. I bet researchers who read about it wish they had discovered it first, especially because it was sitting there in plain sight. I guess most people would have assumed, β€œIt’s Google. Hundreds of researchers have probably tested this already.” Every now and then, we see critical vulnerabilities being reported to tech giants like Google, Meta, Amazon, and OpenAI, despite these companies having sophisticated security teams, vendors, and thousands of independent security researchers constantly hunting for vulnerabilities that their in-house teams, multimillion-dollar security tools, and vendors may have missed. Again, this is for you startup founders, heads of security, and engineering leaders whose platforms are already processing thousands or millions of dollars in transactions, or handling other critical operations. Don’t overestimate the security of your applications or infrastructure simply because you believe you’ve hired the best engineers, invested in expensive security tools, or Claude Code/Codex told you everything is secure. There’s always something you might have missed.

Keeping everyone (including Africans) completely ignorant about Africa and the central role it plays in the economic and natural world is a core feature of Europeanised education, not a bug. You're not supposed to know that the DRC is the most resource-rich country in the world, with an estimated $24 trillion sitting under its soil. You're not supposed to know that the rise of "western civilisation" from the 15th century on was entirely made possible by European contact with Africa, and that the resources and labour extracted from coastal West Africa from 1492 onwards are the entire reason why both American continents exist in their current form. You're not supposed to know that both WW1 and WW2 were essentially wars fought over the right to African colonial domination and expansion, and that even the uranium that was used in "Little Boy" and "Fat Man" dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki came from Shinkolobwe uranium mine in eastern DRC. You're not supposed to know that the reason the country of France exists in its current form is because tens of thousands of conscripted West African soldiers fought and won against the Nazis in Europe, and the French thereafter shipped them back to West Africa and massacred them at Camp Thiaroye in Senegal to avoid paying them their due wages. You're not supposed to know that there was nothing cold about the so-called Cold War, because the vast majority of the hot theaters it was physically fought in were on the continent of Africa. (Zimbabwe, DRC, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Angola, Eritrea, Zambia etc). You're not supposed to know that the ongoing Ukraine war and the war in the Sahel are in fact the same conflict being fought by the same 2 sides, and that the reason France is desperately pushing funding and arms to Ukraine even as it falls into internal crisis is that Ukraine is acting as its proxy army in West Africa, as it tries to regain its lost colonial territories there, especially Niger where the cheap yellowcake uranium for its famously cheap nuclear energy used to come from before the 2023 revolution. You're definitely not supposed to know that the entire global economy and system of trade as you know it is built on ruthless extraction from Africa and ensuring that Africa does not control anything it exports. You're not supposed to know that "Italian leather" doesn't come from Italy - it comes from Kano, Nigeria. You're not supposed to know that "Swiss chocolate" does not exist because cocoa does not grow anywhere in Switzerland or Europe - it comes from Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire and Nigeria. You're not supposed to know that Israel and the UAE control the global diamond and gold markets even though Israel has no diamond mine and the UAE has zero gold mines, because both resources are literally being stolen from the DRC and Sudan on an industrial basis. You're basically not supposed to understand that the entire geopolitical world as you know it, rests entirely on extraction from Africa, poverty of Africans, and your own ignorance about where everything you use comes from. Completely deliberate 500+ year-old feature, not accidental bug.
How did school teach us about the Amazon so much & never once mention the Congo Basin? It's the world's largest tropical carbon sink. The planet is literally breathing through it & nobody thought we should know 😳

Day 3 (English) of me telling you to avoid Libya. The risk of abduction is high. I met a Nigerian who was abducted, tortured, used as a slave by the Arabs for 8 months, and he still paid a ransom for his freedom. I met a young man from Edo who was abducted and sent to Central Africa Republic (CAR), then got sold to a second set of kidnappers. After two captivity spells and five months on the road without getting to his destination in Libya, he made a U-turn to Nigeria. I was almost kidnapped myself. And guess what? If you get abducted and you pay the ransom quickly, problem. If you pay it late, problem! #NoToLibya
