NABE Language Ambassadors – United to Defend Multilingualism in the United States 📷
Yesterday, the NABE Language Ambassadors gathered with renewed determination to affirm that multilingualism is a strength.
From French to Italian, Arabic to Mandarin, Japanese to Indigenous languages and beyond — every language is a bridge, not a barrier.
It was also a valuable opportunity to prepare our contribution for the upcoming #NABE2026 Conference.
We reaffirmed that languages connect us to the world, include us, and create spaces for cultural recognition.

Thank you, Grace-Titita Delgado for your leadership as our Executive Director of Multilingual Programs. Your dedication and hard work have truly made an #AldineImpact! Under your leadership, we successfully developed and coordinated the Spring Festival en Español, a district-wide event for our Spanish-speaking families. We launched the H.O.P.E. Summit which provided high school information to all our Emergent Bilingual 8th grade students. We also instituted the Parent Leadership Academy, launched the Newcomer Empowerment Initiative, and created district-wide guidance for the implementation of the state’s Seal of Biliteracy Performance Acknowledgement. Thanks to the multilingual team’s efforts, 1,276 graduation cords have been provided to high school seniors over the past four years, and we launched the first pinning ceremony for the TABE’s Biliteracy Trajectories for 140 Two-Way Dual Language 5th grade students.
Our overall Emergent Bilingual data for reading from 3rd grade to EOC2 has grown an impressive 12% compared to 2019 data (pre-pandemic)! From 2021 data, we've seen a massive growth of 25% for our Emergent Bilingual students. Thank you, Grace, for your visionary leadership and unwavering support for our students and families!
