I stand with Secretary Hegseth.
Thomas Massie’s impeachment push is nonsense dressed up as constitutional principle.
Congress absolutely has a role in decisions of war and peace. But the President is Commander in Chief, and the War Powers Resolution itself places its central obligations on the President. The Secretary of War operates within that chain of command—he does not independently decide when America goes to war.
If Congress has a constitutional dispute over presidential war powers, then we should debate that question directly. Turning the Secretary of War’s execution of presidential military policy into a personal impeachment case doesn’t defend the Constitution—it deliberately blurs the very lines of authority the Constitution requires us to understand.
The Pentagon’s job is to deter our enemies and, when called upon, fight and win America’s wars. That mission is too important to turn the Department into a proxy battlefield for members of Congress looking to manufacture political spectacle.
Xi and the Chinese Communist Party could not have designed a better psyop campaign to stop American AI data centers than the one critics on the left and right are running themselves.
The country that leads in AI will have the global advantage in defense, science, manufacturing, and economic growth for decades to come. America risks regulating itself into poverty and irrelevance if we continue down this path.
The debate is being framed as a false choice by critics: halt all development or ignore every risk. We should do neither.
Make it easier to build AI data centers. Expand the electric grid. Require developers to pay for the power, water, and infrastructure they need.
President Trump is right on this issue, and more leaders in tech and government should have the courage to make the same case instead of caving in to public fear.
If America refuses to build the future here, the future will be built somewhere else.
Sunday Wisdom from economist Walter Williams: the road to bad policy is paved with good intentions. If a law makes it harder for low-skilled workers to get their first job, who exactly is it helping?
Cartels like Jalisco Nueva Generación, or CJNG, are using drones to bomb entire towns. Yes, it has gotten that crazy.
Not just for surveillance, smuggling drugs across the border, or assassinating public servants. They are dropping explosives on towns to drive people out and seize territory.
CJNG is more like ISIS than the Mafia. They are ruthlessly violent, technologically capable, and willing to terrorize entire populations into submission.
The Trump Admin is paying attention. Even the Mexican government is finally paying attention. Congress is too busy arguing about which members will get the most clicks on social media on any given day, instead of considering the dozen or so counter-cartel bills I’ve drafted. Eventually Congress has to get its act together and support the President. Don’t hold your breath.
My favorite personal memory of Senator Lindsey Graham was traveling with him to the Munich Security Conference back in 2019. He was a true leader. He was the biggest voice in every meeting with European allies. He didn’t waste any time with niceties. He had zero patience for bullshit. He even dropped his polite demeanor sometimes and dropped some f bombs! He wanted to hold our allies accountable on behalf of the American people, and he wasn’t performing for any cameras. He was knowledgeable, direct, and well-prepared. He was an excellent mentor, and he will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace Senator.
Latest episode of Hold These Truths with @JeremyDBoreing is a deep dive into the conspiracy theories brain-rotting a shocking number of Americans.
The Charlie Kirk assassination theories pushed by grifters like Candace Owens are among the most disgusting examples.
Bottom line: Charlie’s murderer was ID’d by his own parents. He confessed. His DNA was on the murder weapon.
But facts don’t matter to social media grifters who have no idea what they’re talking about. They just overwhelm their audience with one “what about” claim after another, counting on their audience to confuse the volume of allegations with evidence.
It’s a multi-million-dollar attention grift – and it’s easy to see through once you understand their tactics.
It says something profound about America’s character that within hours of a devastating earthquake in a country that has been one of our chief adversaries for decades, we still mobilized a massive search-and-rescue and humanitarian aid operation to help save lives.
Praying for the Venezuelan people, the families waiting for answers, and the rescue teams working around the clock.
What’s the difference between a democracy and a republic – and why does the distinction matter?
Constitutional law scholar @RandyEBarnett explains it in 90 seconds on the latest Hold These Truths podcast.
Perfect ammo for your 4th of July BBQ debates… though I’d recommend avoiding politics and stick to fireworks, burgers, and beer.

Share this with anyone who’s been duped by the 1619 Project’s version of America’s founding.
Constitutional law scholar @RandyEBarnett explains why the historical record is far more complicated than the claim that America was founded to preserve slavery: at the time of the founding, America was on the leading edge of the anti-slavery movement, and the prevailing expectation at the time was that slavery was already on a path toward abolition.

One of the more surprising facts about the Founders that came out of my podcast with historian H.W. Brands:
Thomas Jefferson argued that laws should effectively expire after each generation and be reconsidered. He believed each generation should govern itself.
What do you think?

Three Mamdani-backed socialists in the New York primaries. Three victories.
A tough lesson for Establishment Democrats: they didn’t lose the primaries last night. They lost them years ago when they decided to start rewarding radicalism instead of restraining it.

Benjamin Franklin, when asked what the Constitution had given us, said: “A republic…if you can keep it.”
The American experiment is never assured. As Reagan said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.”
The most important responsibility of each generation is to carry freedom on to the next.

Great powers win industrial revolutions. Britain won the first. America won the next two. Now China is determined to dominate the fourth.
In hindsight, it was a mistake for America to outsource so much of its industrial capacity over the last three decades. But decline isn’t inevitable. We still possess enormous advantages – from our innovation and capital markets to our alliances and natural resources – and China faces serious structural weaknesses of its own.
I break it all down with @RushDoshi on the latest episode of Hold These Truths.
President Trump is right — the Senate Parliamentarian needs to go.
I said the same thing last year after she struck down my amendment ending taxpayer funding for sex reassignment procedures.
The Parliamentarian’s job is not to decide whether a policy is good or bad. It’s to determine whether a provision complies with the Senate’s budget rules governing reconciliation.
My amendment directly controlled federal spending, thus it was within the budget rules. The Parliamentarian ruled it out of order anyway.
Republicans are always told these decisions are neutral and beyond question. But when the Parliamentarian consistently blocks conservative priorities, while Democrats face no such obstacles, it's fair to ask whether the rules are being applied fairly.
Bottomline: the Parliamentarian serves at the pleasure of the Senate Majority Leader, not for life. If Republicans want to enact the agenda voters sent them to Washington to deliver, they have every right to replace her with someone who will apply the rules consistently.
These radicalized home-grown terrorists are the most difficult to uncover. Great work by FBI.
Federal prosecutors just charged three Americans – including an ex-Navy sailor – in a plot targeting U.S. Special Forces right here in the United States. (side note: there are no Special Forces in San Diego. There are SEALs. The article should have said “Special Operations”. Now you know).

82 years ago today – 73,000 young Americans stormed into hell and risked everything.
They were willing to sacrifice everything because they knew their children and grandchildren could never thrive, could never be free, in a world where the Nazi party was the unrivaled superpower.
This was the day that America chose to lead the world. It was the day that good men chose to fight evil, never surrender.
A major blow was just dealt to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). This wasn’t just some crude hole in the ground made by amateurs. It was a sophisticated tunnel system they were counting on to smuggle billions of dollars worth of drugs and weapons.
Smuggling tunnels have been a challenge along the border for decades. Cartels have gotten better at making them, but we’re getting better at hunting them down thanks to enhanced intelligence capabilities and stronger cooperation with Mexico.
Lots of Americans are always looking for some deep explanation for why we have enemies. Usually it involves blaming ourselves for some imagined transgression.
The truth is much simpler than that:
Jihadists choose to be our adversaries. Putin chooses to be our adversary. Xi chooses to be our adversary.
Not because of some specific American policy or mistake. Because our values, interests, and vision for the world are fundamentally incompatible with theirs.
From Hold These Truths Episode 364 with counterterrorism expert Aaron Zelin. @azelin
Conservatives understand that mankind’s recent surge in prosperity is fragile, held up by the enlightenment principles of America’s founding.
Progressives wrongly believe that prosperity is the default setting, able to survive the progressives’ endless tinkering under the moral authority of “social justice” and “equity.”
It always feels nice to shout about compassion. But it’s a farce. True compassion is found in the defense of the foundations upon which prosperity survives.
Remember this as we approach our 250th year.
These therapies save veteran lives.
Huge news and the first milestone crossed after President Trump’s announcement last month that he’s accelerating psychedelic therapies for veterans with PTSD.
My legislation to kickstart psychedelic clinical trials passed Congress a few years ago. I’m proud to see the Administration approaching the issue with scientific curiosity.
Now there’s real momentum again – and a real hope for veterans fighting the invisible wounds of combat.
