Congratulations to AllWays Community Health Center in Atchison County on being awarded $544,502 to reduce missed appointments and strengthen referral coordination. This is a new grant, announced today, that comes from the Rural Health Transformation Program we enacted last year.
I was proud to advocate for and support this $50 billion RHTP specifically to help sustain rural healthcare. Today's award brings total RHTP funding for hospitals and clinics with operations in Kansas’s Second Congressional District to more than $17.3 million. Much more is to come.
Access to quality health care is essential to strong, thriving rural communities. These investments help strengthen our local health care providers and ensure Kansans have access to the care they need, close to home.
Public safety depends on the dedicated work of federal, state, and local law enforcement and the communities they serve.
In Congress, I’ve helped advance legislation to support crime victims, strengthen border security, and improve mental health interventions in the criminal justice system.
I’m proud to support the men and women who work every day to keep our communities safe.
Enjoyed a good discussion about leadership lessons with Pitt State students. Thank you for the thoughtful questions and comments.
The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act became law this year, taking important steps to make housing more affordable for families across Kansas.
Here’s what the law does:
🏠 Increases housing supply by encouraging the construction of more homes and addressing barriers to development.
✂️ Cuts unnecessary red tape to help communities build housing more efficiently.
🏦 Expands access to financing by supporting community and rural banks that help families and local builders secure loans.
These reforms are a step toward making the American Dream of homeownership a reality for more Kansas families.
I was excited to join in the ribbon cutting this week for new infill housing in eastern Wyandotte County. This particular developer has a goal of 100 new houses over the next two years, all at prices many working families can afford. I'm grateful to all who are working hard to make quality housing achievable for more Kansas families. Communities throughout our 2nd congressional district have told me the need for more quality housing at prices families can afford is great, and I've been listening. This is what we intended when we enacted the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act earlier this year.
Was in Washington this week to join the AUSA-Central Kansas Chapter for the annual AUSA conference. I'm proud to represent our great military communities and particularly appreciated discussing how we can continue to support Fort Riley and our adjacent communities in the Flint Hills region. Thank you for the helpful discussions.
Keeping our kids safe online is our responsibility.
The Take It Down Act, which I helped pass into law, requires online platforms to remove intimate images shared without permission, including fake images created with AI. This helps protect young people from exploitation and gives victims a way to take back control.
Every child deserves to feel safe online, and I’ll always stand up for their safety and protection.
The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act is now law—the biggest federal housing reform in more than 30 years.
I supported this bipartisan effort to increase housing supply, cut unnecessary red tape, and lower the cost of building homes. The law speeds up permitting, removes duplicative reviews, and helps local and rural banks provide more lending to families, small businesses, and farmers.
More homes and fewer barriers will help make homeownership more attainable for Kansas families.
Good visit with folks at Morris County Hospital. Thank you for providing quality care for the community!
Happy National Farmers Day!
Today, we thank Kansas farmers and ranchers for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to feeding our families and strengthening our communities.
I’m proud to be your voice in Congress and will keep fighting for your values.
Appreciated visiting Hillsboro Community Hospital and learning more about local happenings, including the funds it will receive from the Rural Health Transformation Program we created last year. Thank you for the information!
Visited Supply Energetics, a veteran-owned startup with big talent and big plans to support America's national defense. Their banner says it all! Thank you for showing me your operation.
Visited University of Kansas Health System's Strawberry Hill campus. Strong work in behavioral health. Thank you for taking time to show me some of the good work happening in our 2nd congressional district!
Good to be home last night for the Montgomery County Farm Bureau annual meeting. Congratulations to Doug and Meggin Blex on receiving Sesquicentennial Farm recognition--keeping a farm in the family for more than 150 years is quite an accomplishment!
Great start to the morning visiting with folks at the Iola Chamber of Commerce coffee at Allen Community College. Thanks for all the good conversations!
Congratulations to Kansas City Kansas Community College on getting its new downtown campus up and running! It was an honor to join community members and leaders for the ribbon cutting. This new space will expand education and healthcare opportunities for people in the community and can also spark downtown redevelopment. Well done!
I'm proud of all who worked to get Kansas into the final four sites in competition for the next basing of new KC-46 tankers. We've fought hard to get to this point, and we'll keep fighting for Kansas as the site selection process continues.

Thank you to Kansans active in the Oncology Nursing Society for stopping by my DC office to talk about how I can best support nursing research and strengthen patient access to cancer screening.
Oncology nurses play a vital role in caring for patients and advancing cancer treatment and research. I appreciate their advocacy and look forward to working together to support patients, families, and the nurses who care for them.
My bill, the Criminal History Access Act, passed the Senate!
The bill will strengthen background checks for law enforcement officers by ensuring the people who certify officers have access to the criminal history information they need.
Our bipartisan bill, which I introduced with @RepDeborahRoss of North Carolina, closes a loophole and will help make sure people with disqualifying criminal histories don’t slip through the cracks.
I’m proud we got this commonsense bill across the finish line in Congress. Now it’s headed to President Trump’s desk.
