I’ve worked on protecting reproductive healthcare access for women for years. It's way past time the #PASenate got serious about the threats we face and move legislation forward to protect access to contraceptives in Pennsylvania.
Our Senior Fair was back and bigger than ever! Thanks to everyone for coming out as well as to all of our wonderful organizations to help our seniors make their golden years as bright as possible.
I was concerned to learn from the @PennsylvaniaDEP that benzene vapor was found in the basement of home next to the MIPC facility in Aston where they reported a 9,000 barrel gas leak just before Christmas. Benzene is a known carcinogen. The impacted property is Bethel Township.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro has signed a declaration of disaster emergency ahead of a Saturday deadline that would freeze Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits until a federal budget is passed. ebx.sh/4xtCd9
Because of the federal government shutdown, SNAP payments will not be paid November 1st. This list of food locations in Delaware County includes the names and locations of various organizations that can offer support for families in need and to support your neighbor.

Private equity has no place in our hospitals & nursing homes when their goal is to extract profits at the expense of patients. @PaHouseDems took the first step with passing legislation to create more oversight when private equity attempts to buy a healthcare facility in PA.

For 3 years, I’ve been pushing back against private equity firms that endanger our community health. Their push for profit over patients has been quick and devastating. HB1460 would prevent this from ever happening again in Pennsylvania.

When we make our workplaces safer for our healthcare professionals we make it safer for our patients. I’ve been working for years to pass the Healthcare Violence Prevention Act and it passed the PA House today with bipartisan support.
Childcare is crucial in order to support working families. I’ve been serving Delco for years as a single mother and wouldn’t have been able to do it without quality childcare. We need to get these facilities the funds they need & to pay the workers a living wage.
This morning Prospect Medical Holdings told a bankruptcy judge in Texas that they plan to start closure proceedings for the entire Crozer Health system. This afternoon I stood in solidarity with my colleagues and frontline healthcare workers to fight back.
