Today, the NSA warned organizations to patch two critical security flaws in PHP or take their systems offline. PHP is the software behind roughly 7 in 10 websites, from small business storefronts to town, school and government portals.
Attackers began exploiting these flaws before the fix was released, and what’s even more concerning is that many sites run versions too old to receive the update at all.
This is the new reality of cybersecurity in the age of AI. Advanced AI systems can now uncover serious vulnerabilities in the code that underpins the internet. That capability can strengthen our defenses, but it can just as easily be turned against us.
Congress is running out of time to act.
We should start now with the FRONTIER Act, which would place serious, durable guardrails on the most powerful AI systems. We should pair it with a liability regime like my CLAIM Act that compels companies to prioritize safety and gives those who are harmed a path to recourse. And we must make the investments in cyber defense that this moment urgently demands.
Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.

We’re proud to give @RepLoriTrahan an A on our 2026 Anti-Corruption Scorecard.
Rep. Trahan earned an A based on her support for legislation that strengthens voting rights, protects elections, and cracks down on corruption.
Today, our Lowell office was one of many congressional and election offices across the country that received a suspicious letter containing a potential threat. I’m grateful to the Lowell Fire Department, Lowell Police Department and FBI. They responded quickly, investigated thoroughly, and made sure my team was safe. That’s what our first responders do for our community every single day.
My staff is safe, and our office continues to provide services to Third District residents in need of assistance.
I won't pretend this is normal. It's deeply disappointing that threats like this have become part of our politics. The people who run our offices and our elections are public servants. They deserve to do their jobs without fear. Disagreement is healthy. Intimidation is not.
Nothing will stop us from showing up for the hardworking Massachusetts families we have the honor of serving.

Great to join @RepLoriTrahan at the annual NCMCC congressional luncheon hosted by @fitchburg_state to talk with folks about the issues affecting their lives—from Trump’s illegal war of choice in Iran and ICE terrorizing our communities, to Republicans’ cruel cuts to healthcare, Trump’s stupid tariffs, the affordable housing crisis, and the existential threat of AI.
Government transparency & accountability matter. That’s why events like this are so important.
Surely renaming ANOTHER body of water will make grocery and gas prices cheaper.

"The CLAIM Act says you don't have to prove that the company was careless about building the AI - you have to show that the AI itself acted carelessly," says @RepLoriTrahan. cnb.cx/3UoYwVh
.@IlhanMN is being targeted because she won't back down from Donald Trump's cruel and reckless policies. This raid is intimidation, plain and simple.
None of this will distract us. Republicans have rubber-stamped Donald Trump's agenda at every turn.
We're going to hold them accountable. 22 days to go.
If someone breaks into your bank account or steals your personal information, you should have a way to hold them accountable. But what happens when an AI agent does it?
My CLAIM Act makes sure people harmed by rogue AI aren’t left without recourse. It gives them a path to hold developers accountable and get justice.

Too many Massachusetts families make call after call when their child is struggling and hear the same answer: there's no program for your kid.
Yesterday, I joined Boston Children's and Franciscan Children's to break ground on their new family building in Brighton. It will expand rehabilitation and behavioral health care for kids who need a place to go: our youngest children, kids with autism, and kids with complex medical and behavioral needs.
This world class facility will transform inpatient and outpatient care to meet for children in Massachusetts and across the country.
Groceries. Gas. Healthcare. Heating. Now? Add water to the list.
Americans are paying 62% more for household water than they were a decade ago. Across Middlesex, Essex and Worcester Counties, some families are paying hundreds more each year than they were a decade ago.
No matter where you turn, another bill is going up. How much more are families supposed to take?

When Steward closed Nashoba Valley Medical Center, I promised Massachusetts would protect access to high-quality care.
Now, a new Satellite Emergency Facility — one of residents top priorities — is becoming a reality.
Ralph de la Torre failed this community. There’s more work ahead to repair the damage he caused. We’re going to see it through.

@RepLoriTrahan is rolling out a new proposal aimed at holding AI developers accountable when their systems cause harm.
The CLAIM Act would allow victims to take developers to court when AI agents engage in conduct that would amount to negligence, an intentional tort, or a crime if committed by a person.

When someone breaks the law and hurts you, you can take them to court. That shouldn't change just because the wrongdoer is an AI agent.
Developers have already built systems capable of acting on their own and causing real damage.
The CLAIM Act will ensure they answer for what their systems do.

Work hard. Play by the rules. Own a home someday. That's the promise generations of Americans were raised on.
Mortgage rates just hit 7.3%. That's hundreds of dollars more every month, and homeownership is slipping further out of reach for too many families.
When Donald Trump refused to sign the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, we got it done anyway. But that was the first step, not the last. Now we have to build on it with more homes, lower prices, and a real shot for every family that's earned it.

This investigation alone is not enough.
Congress must act to protect the American people and close any gaps that leave consumers vulnerable. AI is advancing rapidly, and our laws need to keep pace.
The Federal Trade Commission has opened an investigation into OpenAI, Anthropic and other artificial intelligence companies over the potential dangers posed by their products, an agency spokesperson confirmed to CNBC.

Donald Trump and House Republicans promised to lower costs on day one.
Instead, they gave their billionaire friends tax cuts and left working families to pick up the tab.
So when Americans feel pessimistic about the economy, they have every reason to ask: Who is this economy actually working for?
