The Cuban and Venezuelan families I represent didn’t flee opportunity. They fled governments that promised fairness, concentrated power, and left millions with less freedom than before.

"Esto tiene consecuencias reales. No es solo un papel", advirtió el fiscal general de Florida, James Uthmeier, tras anunciar una nueva orden de arresto contra Raúl Castro por el derribo de las avionetas de Hermanos al Rescate en 1996.
Uthmeier aseguró que el exgobernante cubano podría ser detenido y extraditado si viaja a un país con acuerdos aplicables.
"Raúl Castro dio la orden de derribar los aviones. Dio la orden de matar", afirmó el fiscal.

🚨EE.UU. presenta nuevos cargos contra Nicolás Maduro y su esposa por conspiración para cometer tortura
La Fiscalía estadounidense presentó nuevos cargos contra el dictador venezolano Nicolás Maduro y su esposa, Cilia Flores, por conspiración para cometer tortura, según informó la BBC.
Las acusaciones están relacionadas con torturas contra ciudadanos estadounidenses que permanecieron detenidos en Venezuela durante el régimen de Maduro.
Los nuevos cargos se suman a los relacionados con narcotráfico y armas que ya enfrentaba la pareja, bajo custodia estadounidense desde enero de 2026, tras su captura en Caracas.
Maduro y Flores han negado los cargos anteriores. El juicio contra ambos está previsto para junio de 2027.

Last night, students and families from across our community took an important step toward our nation’s U.S. Service Academies and learned more about the congressional nomination process through my office.
It is one of the great privileges of serving in Congress to help open that door for young people willing to lead, sacrifice, and serve our country.
Miami should be proud of them.

And I came with good news: $2 million for Cutler Bay, $1 million for Saga Bay and $1 million for Lakes by the Bay to improve drainage, reduce flooding, and help protect Biscayne Bay.
Celebrating our roots while taking care of the community we call home.
