Tonight, the American people sent a clear message — they want a politics that brings people together rather than divides them, and leaders who offer concrete solutions to the challenges they face. These results were only possible because outstanding candidates stepped forward in every region of the country — including in areas once considered long shots. They came from different backgrounds and represented a range of political perspectives, but were united by shared values, a belief in public service, and a commitment to putting the people of their districts and states first. We also owe a debt of gratitude to the thousands of election officials and volunteers from both parties who helped ensure a smooth election and carried out one of the most essential functions of our democracy. While this administration has another two years in office, our job now is to roll up our sleeves, make changes wherever we have the power to do so, prevent further damage, and lay the groundwork for the future.

Sen. Ossoff: Our task is not just to contain one president's wickedness, but to heal the brokenness beneath. This is a moment not for restoration, but for reformation. Because while the wealthy feast on inside information and official favors, America's forgotten families are treated to official indifference, working harder and harder while the treadmill just gets faster and steeper.

Update: Dems now will have governors in all seven battlegrounds. Incredibly important for protecting democracy and because govs have political machines.
Dems now have or likely to have govs in 6 of the 7 presidential battlegrounds, with Nevada still possible.

Killer night for Tennessee House Dems. Great candidates plus a lot of work from @JRClemmons , @VoteBo and others really delivered for Tennesseans who want an end to the crazy. Hard to overstate what a turning point this is for state politics.

FLASHBACK: “DesJarlais was going to run unopposed, I said over my dead body — he paid for 3 abortions for his wife and mistresses… you do you, but don’t take our rights away.” Victoria Broderick just appears to have won by 280 votes. Incredible. #TN4

Wow. So clearly Haley Stevens is unaware of what’s going on in this country and why it was that she was running for Senate in the first place. Looking forward to never hearing about her again.

Marsha & Republicans have had complete control of TN for decades. What do they have to show for it? - record-high costs, chaos & corruption - last in the nation for public education funding - last in the nation for quality of life Help is on the way. Vote for TN Democrats.

The President is already using every tool at his disposal to intervene in our elections this November. And the authoritarian playbook is very clear. When you're at risk of losing, you either make up a threat that only you can protect the American people from or find a way for federal law enforcement or the military to seize ballots or voting machines. If you hear in the next few days that there is a new security threat that you've never heard of that requires federal law enforcement or the military, an alarm bell should go off in your brain. Do not let him get away with that.

Seneca warned that Rome’s bloody spectacles corrupted the people who watched them. A civilization erodes when it cultivates an appetite for executions as a form of entertainment. Secretary Hegseth’s plan to livestream the Fort Hood execution risks feeding that appetite. The victims deserve justice administered with solemnity. Broadcasting a death diminishes us and is not an effective deterrent. I urge him to reconsider.

Trump has normalized corruption.
In 2019, Trump was forced to cancel plans to hold the G7 at his own golf club amid GOP objections to self dealing. In 2026, he will hold the G20 at his own golf club and the critics have gone silent. How Trump has moved the ethical line in his second term. nytimes.com/2026/10/04/us/po…

Too late, Senator. You will be remembered for nothing other than your failure to stand up for your country at the critical moment.
Republican Sen. Thom Tillis says in a new book that his deciding vote to confirm Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is the "biggest regret of my career" and that he also "should've stopped" RFK Jr. from becoming Health and Human Services secretary. to.pbs.org/4i4JblK
