Human trafficking continues to devastate communities across Michigan, exploiting children and vulnerable individuals.
I’m proud to see my bipartisan legislation, the Enhancing Detection of Human Trafficking Act, be signed into law. I introduced this critical legislation with @RepLucyMcBath to give Department of Labor employees the tools and training needed to identify trafficking and help bring perpetrators to justice.

My office has been in contact with the EPA and local officials after last night's hazardous material spill in Toledo, Ohio that is affecting communities in Monroe County, and I am continuing to monitor the situation. At this time, the EPA has established a 3-mile shelter-in-place order to protect the health of nearby communities.

119th Congress Committee Wins: Less Bureaucracy, Better Education
Committee Republicans advanced 10 bills to right-size the Department of Education and put students, families, and taxpayers ahead of Washington bureaucracy.
The package would cut unnecessary red tape, streamline federal education programs, and move key responsibilities to agencies better equipped to carry them out.
Education should be about student success—not growing government.
In addition to delivering the largest tax refund season in American history, the Working Families Tax Cuts also expanded educational freedom, incentivizing investments in scholarships to support K-12 education for millions of hardworking Americans and pay for expenses that best meet their educational needs.
