Chicago Public Schools has made their policies very clear, but @dcpublicschools has been thus far silent. We need a strong statement from @MayorBowser and @DCPSChancellor to defend dc public education - and we need it yesterday. @DMEforDC @ChmnMendelson @Janeese4DC @RobertWhite_DC @chenderson @charlesallen @BrianneKNadeau

Reminder that there is another DC encampment that has been happening for a year and a half, but MPD continues to rack up overtime, every single night, protecting them:

LIVE COVERAGE: Arrests made, protesters pepper sprayed as police clear GW encampment
More than 20 arrests were made Wednesday morning as MPD cleared the Gaza Solidarity Encampment at GW, according to an MPD spokesperson.

To start off Teacher Appreciation Week, instead of rewarding our hard-working @WTUTeacher's with a contract, unfortunately, @dcpublicschools and @MayorBowser team cancelled the negotiation session scheduled today & filed a PERB complaint against WTU claiming that WTU does not have the right to work with @councilofdc on trying to get a contract. DC residents being moved to different jails across the country on a whim is horrible.
The fact that this is happening to Commissioner Bishop who is an incredible advocate for our community, is even worse.
Hope @MayorBowser, @SafeDC, @CMBrookePinto all come out against this.
ANC of the D.C. Jail Leonard Bishop says he is scheduled to be transferred back to a U.S. penitentiary in Kentucky this week. Commissioners must live in the single member districts they serve, so his transfer would likely disqualify him from his role.

Our Democratic President is actively undermining the District’s local government and setting back our DC Statehood efforts. A terrible decision that opens the door to further Congressional meddling and threats to our local self determination.

Thousands of non-English speakers need medical interpretation to understand their care. Here’s how local hospitals & others are trying to meet those needs – and why some patients are falling through the cracks. From the exceptional @amanduhgomez and me.

I can't believe this has to be pointed out: the reason cars are designed to crumple, rather than be indestructible, is to divert the energy of a crash around the cabin and protect the occupants.
If you crash in this thing, the car will be fine but YOU will shatter into pieces.

This issue also isn't simply about money. Money is a big part, but transportation challenges, language barriers, opportunities for off-field growth, and so much more are hurdles embedded in the pay-to-play system. We've addressed all the layers with DCFC: districtofcolumbiafc.com/our…
