Young people donโt just use the YVL App - they shape it. โ
This afternoon, Youth Advisory Board members and representatives from youth groups in Tanzania took the floor to share honest feedback and personal experiences exploring the App.
Their insights went deep: language diversity, inclusivity for rural communities, gender responsiveness, accessibility, content relevance, clarity, navigation, and overall user experience.
Their testimonials made it clear what works well, where thereโs room to improve, and how the App can better respond to young people's diverse needs.
Then it was time to build. Participants rotated through 4โ5 thematic tables on navigation, content, accessibility, engagement features, and creative tools - identifying challenges, brainstorming solutions, and proposing new features. ๐งฉ

Across Africa, many adolescents face barriers to the information, services and choices they need to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Through the SHE SOARS project, girls and boys are speaking up about their needs, and healthcare providers are listening. Across Kenya, Uganda and Zambia, efforts to make health services more youth-friendly are helping challenge stigma and improve access to SRHR care.
At the Center for Reproductive Rights, we believe every young person deserves the right and accurate information, support and freedom to make decisions about their health and future.

๐ฅ From 12 to 21 August 2026, @RestlessDev delivered in-person training on civic education, evidence-based advocacy, leadership, and accountability across six regions in Tanzania, in collaboration with eight youth-led CSOs.
๐ฅ The activity brought together 581 participants, including 509 young people aged 15-35, 27 youth-led CSO leaders, and 45 local government decision-makers.
๐ฃ๏ธ Through interactive sessions, role-plays, and group discussions, participants strengthened their knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to advocate on issues affecting young people, participate in decision-making spaces, and engage duty-bearers.
๐ค The training also created opportunities for young people, youth-led organizations and local government representatives to connect around youth participation, accountability and community action.
๐ก Participants reported greater confidence in expressing their ideas, leading community initiatives, and engaging in governance and development discussions, and committed to strengthening collective youth action by sharing their learning with other young people and coordinating advocacy on community issues.

Deaf and hard of hearing young people do not need to be changed. They need equal opportunities, accessible spaces and the freedom to lead as themselves.
This International Day of Sign Languages, we celebrate our #MyDigitalRightsUG Champion,@GloriaHindu and recognise sign language as part of identity, community and pride.
True inclusion means removing barriers and making sure every young person can participate, exercise their rights and lead change.

At the @RestlessDev AU-EU Youth Action Lab event in Kampala, one message was clear: funding youth-led organisations should not just be about starting good work, it must create the conditions for that work to continue, scale, and deliver lasting impact.
To drive real change, we need longer, flexible grant periods and active regranting mechanisms that let high-performing initiatives scale what already works. โณ๐
