Reflection & metacognition are two great clinical reasoning tools.🧵
I often advise clinicians to choose one patient a day to reflect on. Think about the interaction you had, the flow, the discussion, the treatment, the assessment, the education, the closure and forward plan.

Polite request
If you teach patients to do cervical retraction, can you stop calling it chin tucks , plus can you allow them to do head and neck retraction , not just head bobbing like a demented chicken.
Thanks,

You may have heard the term “derangement” and immediately thought of Robin McKenzie. But the story of the term goes back further. @Retlouping explains how McKenzie was strongly influenced by the work of British orthopaedic surgeon Dr James Cyriax.

Muscles rarely if ever just do their actions during everyday function.
It is more likely that they don’t. Functionally most work synergistically and perform movement opposite to their action.
Quads are knee flexors, abdominals are spine extenders.
Enjoy your day.

Do clinicians really understand the difference between, placebo, contextual effects and specific effects. I am going to propose placebo has zero effect, “nothing” (placebo) always needs contextual priming. Hence contextual effects are “specific” effects. frontiersin.org/journals/psy…
