I preferred arcade style games but did enjoy a text adventure from time to time. Kentilla was a great, if tough one in the genre. I never did finish it.

'Landscaping' in Lords of Midnight and Doomdarks Revenge was so good. The visuals were so clean and striking - I still like the style today.

Can any people who owned a 16K #ZXSpectrum tell me if they bought this game? I can imagine the disappointment when it failed to load. Despite being marketed as a 16K title, a rogue Byte prevented it from loading
Styx. Mathew Smiths first ever ZX Spectrum title was compatible with the 16K model
A fun, quirky game that's covered in my upcoming book on the greatest 16K releases.

Crazy Caverns was a great little 16K #ZXSpectrum game.
A budget release in '84, it was great value.
It's covered in my upcoming book on the greatest 16K games.

How my computer gaming journey began. A ZX81 with a 16K RAM pack.
It was my friends machine.

Cruising on Broadway is one of the most stripped back, minimalistic, yet superbly playable games to ever grace the 16K #ZXSpectrum
This, along with input the games creator is featuring in my upcoming book on the subject. 👍

Who didn't like Tranz Am?
Another triumph of 16K #ZXSpectrum gaming from Ultimate.
Featuring in my upcoming book on the subject.

Where does Tomahawk rank amongst the #ZXSpectrum flight sims?
For me, anything Digital Integration was usually top-drawer.

Who can name the 16K #ZXSpectrum game?

Chuckman was only £1.99 on the #ZXSpectrum under the Mastertronic label.
Well worth it

A beat em up/hack em up I really liked this time. Barbarian on the #ZXSpectrum.
Released by Palace Software in 1987 it put a unique spin on the genre. Good as a single player game and great fun against a friend.
The decap move will never not be satisfying.

I love beat em ups, but I was disappointed with Yie Ar Kung Fu on the #ZXSpectrum
The one-step animation made the bouts too random. I beat it on my second go simply by button mashing.
Was it worthy of a Crash Smash?

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Cassette decks overheating with R Tape Loading Errors on computer desks. I watched loading stripes glitter in the dark on portable TVs. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to rewind.

The Commodore 3000h. I had one around 1979/80 ish.
4 built in games, although skeet shooting required a light-gun.
It used to overheat after around 40 minutes of play. The 'dot' would bounce around the outside border and go through it. 😆
Happy days...
