Democrats have their eyes on some US House races in North Carolina that weren't thought to be in play a few months ago.
Do Democrats have a chance in seats they lost by high double digits last election?

"It's been a little while since I've talked to Thom."
Michael Whatley was in Huntersville, where Thom Tillis lives, for a campaign event last night.
Here's what Whatley and what Tillis say about each other.

Sen. Tillis rips into members of the Trump Administration in his new book. But he doesn't point much criticism at the president himself.
Why not both?

60 Minutes obtained the names of 63 people on a deportation flight from Texas to West Africa. Of the 19 people we reached who were sent to Ghana, 17 say Ghana then transported them against their will to their home countries — places U.S. immigration judges had ruled they should not be returned to.
A Department of Homeland Security lawyer told 60 Minutes he was not aware of cases in which Ghana had sent deportees home against their will. He also said he believes third-country removals have prevented crimes and made Americans safer. cbsn.ws/4yNhS4B

Tillis wrote at the end of his new book that he wouldn't vote for an Attorney General nominee if that person "played a role in setting up a fund to pay" people responsible for January 6.
But he still voted for Todd Blanche.

Asked by my colleague @ekoslof if payments to Camp Lejeune toxic water victims will be dependent on midterm results, Trump says if Republicans lose it makes it hard -- "maybe they won't get their money."
---
Fact-Check:
Who controls Congress doesn't impact payments for Camp Lejeune toxic water victims.
Congress already passed legislation in 2022 letting victims seek compensation from the federal govt.
The claims are with the federal Navy and DOJ, not Congress.
