There is something fundamentally wrong with charismatic ethics! “The Lord told me“ and “the Lord is leading me“ is too often used to justify breaking commitments, severing relationships and rationalizing away the hurt we cause to others! Let’s stop blaming the Spirit for our sin!

Shelbys father, Officer Richard Houston, was murdered last week in Texas. I don’t know if I’ve ever witnessed such a powerful display of God’s mercy & grace.

So I like this a lot; reframing the idea of the so-called #RuleOfSix into a quasi-monastic Rule of Life, based around living well, which I first experienced with @YearInGodsTime. This gives me encouragement and hope.
Living with COVID-19 will be hard for everyone this winter. The Prime Minister has asked us all to observe the Rule of Six. There are lessons and challenges that Christians can draw from this number to help us live well in these times. oxford.anglican.org/six/

‘For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.’

Fantastic morning @stthomasncl this morning. Preaching on Matt 15:21-31. Jesus on racism and the beauty of the gospel. Two men are in church. One came to our Wednesday service and gave his life to Christ. His friend came today and was stunned by the Gospel. Both were baptised.

Matt Godden with his first goal of the pre-season for Coventry as he prepares to play in the Championship just four years after playing in the Conference South.
He’s scored 58 goals in 141 league games in that time.
One to watch this season.
