Everyone is focused on the Kevin O’Connell quote about organizations failing young quarterbacks and for good reason.
However, it’s the second part of the quote that really needs focus today

I was VERY high on JJ McCarthy the last two years. It would have been an objectively good look for me if he won this competition and proved himself as the answer the Vikings hoped for. It didn’t happen, and the team is under way too much pressure this season to risk finding out later on. Kyler has his risks, but his potential upside is massive. This is a tenure altering call by KOC and I’m certain he put every last bit of possible thought and consideration into it.

Obviously I understand the decision to start Kyler Murray and thought that was going to happen from the minute we signed him, but I will stand by the take that I think it’s a HORRENDOUS process to move on from a QB 10 starts into his career at 23 years old in which he showed signs of clear progress towards the end of his first season starting and despite going 6-4 as a starter

Hot take but I hope whoever plays QB for the #Vikings next year does well and leads them to many wins

Man leave it to team Canada to put McDavid-MacKinnon-Makar on the ice and then cry about how 3 on 3 isn’t fair LMAO
I mean……

I love that immediately after the goal, they play the guitar solo section of “Freebird” in the arena.
The International Olympic Committee must think that’s the sound of Americans going nuts.

Yes the Vikings look kinda dumb for the letting Sam Darnold go. But let's not forget the Ravens also let Mike Macdonald go. Just two bag fumbling purple teams.

Sam Darnold is a Super Bowl champion. I’m not saying it to poke fun. This is what happens when someone refuses to fold. He took every bad hand he was dealt, never whined, never pointed fingers, and just kept grinding. He deserves this moment.

Justin Jefferson says the QB decisions for the #Vikings this past offseason were “very tough” to make:
“You’re looking at Sam, he won us 14 games this previous season, why not bring him back… then you obviously look at Daniel Jones, and seeing the things he has done in NY, he has a freakishly great ability to throw that rock, great spin on that ball… then you hear about the rumors with Aaron Rodgers, obviously that’s a dream to play with one of the best in this game… but you think about what you have right there in front of you, and at that moment… once JJ was the main guy, it was just about pouring into him as much as we can to make sure he was that guy for us.”

if jaden and naz are “too much” to acquire giannis, what you should do is pivot and move randle for role players and allowed jaden and naz to step into serious roles instead of staying tucked in the shadow of a fake 2nd option so you can keep saying “ohh we have a plan for them”

So far this game is a great summary of JJ McCarthy through one season:
- Almost TOO competitive and a little psycho.
-Great mobility.
-Batted balls at LOS.
-Will have the most egregious missed pass you’ve ever seen followed by a SICK bullet pass while running out of the pocket.
I have a headache.
