In 1990s cricket fans used to say; Aussie PM is Keating Aussies are cheating Thirty years on, nothing changed. Same old Aussies.

Milan Rathnayake is also in the equation which means there’ll be room for only one spinner.

Visakhapatnam or Vizag as some would call it is one of India’s cleanest cities. Nice people too.

The first ODI between Sri Lanka and India in December has been shifted to Visakhapatnam from Delhi. Earlier Delhi authorities wanted the game shifted due to excessive pollution in the Indian capital.

Looks like short ball will be used to good effect during the Tests.

Plenty of fire in the Islamabad pitch today during Sri Lanka’s warm-up game. Sonal Dinusha took a blow just below the ear while attempting a hook, losing control of his bat in the process and departing hit wicket. He underwent concussion tests and was cleared. Image courtesy: PCB.

Bit of a collapse for Sri Lanka in the second innings in the warm-up game at Rawalpindi.

Could we have played a third Test instead of a warm-up game?

Sri Lanka recovered from an early wobble to reach 120 for three at lunch on day one of their warm-up game against Pakistan ‘A’. Reeling at 40 for three, they steadied the ship through an unbroken fourth wicket stand between Lahiru Udara, unbeaten on 57, and Kusal Mendis, on 30. Image; PCB.

Being a selector in one country is hard enough. Imagine being a selector in two countries. Happy Birthday in heaven to the great man.

Wonder where the game will be shifted? Any chance we can come to Madras? Haven’t played there since 2005.

Great place. Covered a Test match here in 2009. Sehwag hammered 293. Mathews was run out for 99. Back to the wall hundred by captain Sangakkara. And Dilshan dismissed by Nigel Llong in both innings.

Still thinking of how amazingly South Africa fought back when chips were down over the last two weeks. They have copped so much in the last three decades with that ‘chokers’ tag. Guess they have found a way to hang in there and overcome those high pressure scenarios.

Plenty of hype in Australia about Cameron Green. Surely Sheffield Shield has better options for number 4. Green can’t play spin, thinks there’s a single to short cover, half the time injured. How does their quota system work? Four from NSW, 3 from WA and 2 each from QLD and SA?

A class act. Scored an unbeaten hundred at P. Sara Oval in the fourth innings. Sri Lanka lost the game after scoring nearly 450 in the first innings.

Love South Africa. It’s a country that has its own problems like us, but when it comes to sports, they are second to none. Australia done and dusted. Hats off to Temba Bavuma. And love Kagiso Rabada. Can’t wait to welcome them in Sri Lanka next year.
