In my lifetime we have seen atmospheric carbon rise by 50%
We have also seen:
World population ⬆️76%
Cars on the road ⬆️225%
Air passengers ⬆️575%
Oh, and let’s not forget…
worldwide cattle ⬇️ 5%
Let’s act on on the true cause and not what the money “tells” us to do.

Great to see one of our Monitor Farms, @Alnhamfarming, feature in @FarmersWeekly. Hear about the changes they have made to their system & how those have resulted in cost savings in the links below.
Consultants @ColdrochieEG & @RhidianJones2 have been a great help to the team!

Well done all @Alnhamfarming for being brave enough to give this a go. This is exactly what a monitor farm should be about, trying and monitoring new ways on the coal face and being open and honest about the results. Keep up the good work 👍

Great meeting at home last week with the Fold Farm Vets Beef discussion group. The rain held off enough for @RhidianJones2 to lead the group through chats about forage, grass and wintering options. – at North East, England
Excellent progress made over the last two winters at the Northumberland monitor farm at Alnham. This winter will see the roll out of even more cost saving options for wintering beef cows both on the hill and using bale grazing
Monitor Farmer @Alnhamfarming are already preparing for winter. Aim to keep cows outside until March.

Cows and calving finishing the bale grazing this weekend. Hay for a few days having finished the silage - and wastage has risen. Which I didn’t expect. Maybe DM allocation is too high now. Not worried but v interesting. Lessons form our first go at bale grazing;

"Grazed grass grows grass" - a theme at @alnhamfarming who are rotationally grazing 180 ewes pre-lambing. This will stimulate grass growth whilst also reducing hard feed costs. Before giving it a go make sure average farm cover is at least 1700kgDM 👍
