Losing the weekly 12/21/25 EMAs is hardly the backdrop in which I’d be looking to position for a significant swing higher, at least not until a credible basing structure begins to develop.
The same principle applies across much of the altcoin market. I’m surprised by how many on my timeline continue to buy dips that seemingly keep dropping lower... very brave - but i'll pass thanks.
I’d rather exercise patience and wait for clear evidence of accumulation structures before considering meaningful long exposure.
Keep it simple... stupid

Tagged the Y/O almost to the tick... personally positioned short from the area - gives me downside cover against my spot play.
What matters now is the character of any sell-off. Do we roll over with momentum and acceptance lower, or spend the coming weeks ranging and distributing?
The measured move on this rally is similar to March- April 2022 - but the macro structure coming into the respective lows is significantly different to that of 2022.
I'm increasingly interested in whether we're beginning to develop a much larger, multi-month structural range between the 60s and 120s. If so, the environment becomes far more rotational, plenty of opportunity on both sides rather than a market that demands a persistent directional bias.
That's currently where I lean.
The alternative is equally simple: this is consolidation before another leg higher.
125s remains my line in the sand above here and I flip - back under again... will sell again

End of Month 2 - Crypto Perps Acc Only
Performance
- Account Growth: +38% cumulative (8 weeks)
- Max DD: <3% peak-to-trough uPnL (October)
- Sharpe: 6+ October | ~4.6s running
- Risk per Trade: 0.25–1%
Markets have been largely rotational, so mostly batting for singles, although catching the downside in alts mid-month accounted for the bulk of October's gains - made some subtle adjustments heading into November.
Having built a solid PnL buffer, I'll be looking to get more selectively aggressive over the coming months.
Not through oversized initial positions but by dynamically adding to winners as the thesis plays out, particularly on short time frame based rotations... while keeping downside risk firmly in check...
Nothing flashy, just steady, honest work, me against myself and earning the right to scale size through consistency.
Bring on November...
First month back trading crypto perps... excluding spot plays/accounts.
+22% account growth vs my usual 6–7% monthly target.
-6% max peak-to-trough drawdown on uPnL.
Too early to put much weight on Sharpe/Calmar, though Sharpe has held around 4+. That’ll normalise with a larger sample.
Traded like dogshit by my own standards, but stuck to the rules and kept risk sensible.
I always tend to warm up on the first month back prior to increasing acc size.
Its not flashy, but steady honest work, me against myself... earning the right to scale up the account size.
Bring on Q4...

Even if a Ledger or another hardware wallet were compromised, there are ways to establish additional layers of security well in advance.
Multi-sig imo upfront using independent signing devices, ideally from different manufacturers, with geographically distributed backups.
The most important part = Understand how to independently generate your own seed phrase that is 128-bit or 256-bit entropy using a properly verified process, such as physical dice rolls, rather than relying exclusively on manufacturer-generated seed phrases.
Coldwallet hack was a wake up call tbh... not that I have one - bullet dodged.
Ledger continues being a shit show... I have one as a 3 of 5 multi-sig
In the digital space I feel like I’m forever having to dodge bullets for the last 10 years, whether it’s cascading liquidation events, exchange hacks and shutdowns, phishing links, drained wallets, and the constant risk that comes from poor security practices, especially when it comes to how seed phrases are stored.
The recent Coldcard attack, caused by a firmware bug that left seeds with critically low entropy, only reinforced something I’ve believed for a long time tbh… it’s essential to truly understand how any hardware wallet generates its seed before you trust it with real funds or even your own for that matter.
Deciding on what hardware wallet and security measures is one the key areas of trading and investing in digital assets where I’ve always been strict.
Could you trust a bank with poor security protocols with your funds ?
I’ve always been a believer in multisig setups for longer-term holdings…
A minimum standard is a multisig 2-of-3 or 3-of-5 setup using BIP39 and a passphrase that has at least 128 bits of entropy.
For trading capital I keep things simpler with several air-gapped offline wallets, BIP39 but with a secure bit entropy passphrase.
I also make sure the seed isn’t generated solely from the device’s TRNG (True Random Number Generator), the dedicated hardware circuit that creates genuine randomness from physical sources.
Relying only on the device’s TRNG leaves you exposed if that hardware ever fails or is bypassed by a bug, so I always opt for additional layers of entropy as a safety net (some hardware wallets add a couple of layers on top during seed phrase creation / generation).
If you’re setting up your own storage, I’d strongly recommend taking the time to understand exactly how your wallet provider creates the seed phrase, and creating a passphrase with at least 128 bits of entropy as the baseline.
I’m no security expert but I’ve done my fair share of personal due diligence - and if non of the above makes sense… then it’s probably worth dedicating some time towards securing your funds moving forward…

Over the years, I've developed a fairly good read on markets approaching significant highs, and potential turning points.
I've been on the right side of those decisions consistently over the last several years as far back as 2021 highs, and that matters to me because it preserves my PnL.
We all want to capture the upside.... but the prospect of further gains blinds participants to the increasingly asymmetric downside risks developing - I'm also convinced theres just far too much bullish tweeting into resistance for "being liked" ... its just dogshit trading - see it happen over and over again - usual accounts - free pass etc...
"Kahneman and Tversky famously observed that losses loom larger than gains, with the psychological impact of a loss often estimated at roughly twice that of an equivalent gain.
But beyond the psychology, there's a mathematical reality to drawdowns. Lose 50% and you need 100% just to get back to even"
The objective isn't to be right at every turn. It's to remain in the game long enough for your edge to compound... not solely relying up on luck - or bundling shitters as a fake trader...
