Recognizing the history, achievements and contributions of people with disabilities this Illinois Disability History Month
It's no secret costs are going up across the board. And families are cutting back on one bill, to pay another.
While Springfield can't wave a wand to lower costs at checkout, we can use our state tax powers to provide some relief.
And we have.
By investing in the Earned-Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credits, 950,000 families have saved nearly $600 million dollars just last year.
For families that take advantage of both – they've kept an average of $1,460 in their pockets.
That means more money for school supplies, diapers, and home-cooked meals.
Our session starts back up soon, and I am committed to finding new, direct ways to put money back in our pockets.
Went for a tour of the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant to see MWRD's work to protect our water environment in Cook County and downstream. We are all tied together across this state when it comes to protecting this important resource. Water!
