About 37.7% turnout. Up slightly from 2022 but a dismal showing compared to 2018 and 2014. Been declining since the early 2000s. Do Winnipeggers just no longer care?
The mayoral candidates received 201,410 votes combined, out of 533,856 eligible voters. #wpgpoli
So much negativity online this morning about the vote. We've got way more to celebrate than complain about.
I predicted 8 new faces on council. We got 9. 👀
This is one of the largest reboots of council we've seen in years. 1/
So here's my question:
With this much turnover, could you honestly picture any other mayoral candidate steering this ship forward so we don't end up dead in the water?
I couldn't. But let's hear it. Who'd you vote for, and why? 👇 4/
11% of Transcona voters were either ignorant or did not care about the dark clouds Wyatt brings with him. In any case, the 2 front run runners here represented a break from the drama and thankfully Transcona is moving on from him and his alleged wrongdoings.
Russ Wyatt voted out of Winnipeg city council, Lora Meseman to represent Transcona

Fun result for Redden, but I doubt it reflects reality. It wasn't a random sample, so there's no real margin of error. That said, voters who see Redden as the progressive choice may back him more strongly than his experience alone would suggest.
Falcon-Ouellette's endorsement of Klein seems like an odd partnership to me. What's the motivation for this public support? #wpgpoli
Incumbents are hard to beat in Winnipeg, sadly. I've got my eye on the council races - lots of change about to happen in many wards as incumbents step down. Also intently watching my St.James ward - it's very likely the incumbent will lose. Which ones are you watching? #wpgpoli
Gillingham's team calls out Klein's amateur hour blunder with his social media ad displaying Edmonton as Winnipeg. For someone who touts "Facts Matter" - Winnipeggers need to see that a leader (and their team) can get things right. #wpgpoli #winnipegelection
Still not sure how I feel about this time change. Have to change my clocks to go to the lake for the weekend and 2x to get to my business in Thunder Bay.
Psychological intimidation is a tactic Wab uses consistently in the house. He's actually quite good at it... And that should concern people. #mbpoli

Zero details given but I won't be enforcing this as a parent. I will however, continue to teach, guide, & monitor my kids behaviour to use social media & AI for their benefit to learn & connect. As individuals, we need to learn discipline & control of our actions & surroundings.

For an organisation like Siloam to go "media silent" is a big deal. This is unusual and a sign of major problems. If I were a board member, I'd be seriously concerned right now about this spiralling further out of control. #winnipeg
