Sioux Falls Lincoln Senior Brody Schafer is this week’s South Dakota Riddell Player of the Week for 11-Man Football. “Brody continues to be one of our top performers weeks after week, and his impact goes well beyond his individual performance. In last week’s top five matchup, he led the Patriots to a 34–25 upset victory over Brandon Valley. Against a quality opponent, his ability and leadership helped our team earn a significant win. Brody’s value to Sioux Falls Lincoln cannot be measured by statistics alone. He sets an example for his teammates through his consistency, character, and leadership. His presence makes our team better, and he represents our program in a way that makes our coaches, school, and community proud. Just as impressive is the character Brody demonstrates away from football. His ability on the field is matched by the person he is in the classroom and hallways of Lincoln High School. Through his involvement in Student Council and the Lincoln Leaders Council, he embraces opportunities to contribute to our school beyond athletics. Brody reflects the qualities we hope to develop in every student-athlete: a strong competitor, a dependable teammate, and a young person of character. Brody’s efforts led to 15-24 for 257 yards passing, 17 YPC, and passing 4 TDs; along with 15 rushes for 34 yards and 1 rushing TD.” -Jared Fredenburg Sioux Falls Lincoln HC Honorable Mentions: Ryder Thompson (Canton), Ashton Oberle (Beresford), Noah Wald (St. Thomas More) @RiddellSports @sdfbca @domehats @PatsRevolution

Bennett County Senior Rush O’Neill is this week’s South Dakota Riddell Player of the Week for 9-Man Football. “Rush had an outstanding week in a tight win. He excelled on both sides of the ball and had a career night receiving. When a big play was needed Rush could be counted on to be in the right position. All season Rush has been a quiet leader on and off the field. Rush leads by example on and off the field every day. He moved positions on defense to start his senior year based on the team's needs and has thrived. He puts his team ahead of himself and is the loudest supporter of his teammates' success. In a tough game this week he led the team with 6 receptions for 228 yards, 39.9 YPC, 3 TDs, and 6 total tackles.” -Brady Hicks Bennett County HC Honorable Mentions: Pete Maher (Timber Lake), Will Aderhold (Castlewood), Keagan Hansen (Redfield) @RiddellSports @sdfbca @domehats

Bob Chesney on the everyday work of building a program’s culture. “If I just sit at my desk and talk to no one and go on the field and stand in the corner and do nothing, it's really hard to identify if I'm building that culture and that environment or not.” A great speech on Saturday can help your team, but your team’s identity takes shape in how you show up Monday through Friday. Your players learn what matters through their daily experience of being coached by you. Give them a message worth hearing AND give them evidence of it throughout the week. 🎥: Big Ten Network

Florence/Henry Senior Dawson Hlavacek is this week’s South Dakota Riddell Player of the Week for 9-Man Football “Dawson is a 2-year captain and the positive energy that our team constantly feeds off. Dawson plays wherever we need him to, whether that be LB, DB, DE; he is the guy willing to do whatever it takes to win. He spent the summer in the weight room and was one of the first to offer rides to underclassmen if they needed. Dawson has played since week 5 with a hand injury and played through the injury before it was diagnosed for the entire game. The thing that stands out for me above all else for Dawson is his relentless drive. He is 100mph everywhere he goes, and with everything he does. Dawsons efforts last week led to 161 yards rushing on 18 Att. 3 TD; 57 yards on 3 receptions and 1TD; 2 INT + 2PBU and 1 solo tackle on defense.” -Nate Russell Florence/Henry HC Honorable Mentions: Jonathan Leonardi (Hamlin), Henry Anderson (Baltic), Charlie Eide (Centerville) @RiddellSports @sdfbca @domehats @FHFalconsFB

Sioux Falls Jefferson Senior Cason Mediger is this week’s South Dakota Riddell Player of the Week for 11-Man Football. Cason has been exceptional all season. He saves his best performances for our biggest games. He was almost flawless Friday night against one of our rivals. Cason is a member of our leadership council. He is part of the Teacher Pathway Program and works with kids at Heyward Elementary. He also has volunteered his time at various elementary schools in SF. Cason is also a multi-sport athlete (basketball and baseball). He is completely unselfish and has set the bar very high from a play and leadership standpoint for the future QBs of Jefferson High School. Cason’s efforts last week led to 16/20 passing, 240 yds, 15 YPC, and 3 TD's.” -Eric Struck, Sioux Falls Jefferson HC Honorable Mentions: Anderson Porisch (Huron), Boche Knight (West Central), Mitch Grant (Tea Area) @RiddellSports @sdfbca @domehats @EricStruck

Lakota Tech Sophomore Edward Stover Jr. is this week’s South Dakota Riddell Player of the Week for 9-Man Football “Eddie is a phenomenal athlete whose motor and effort are second to none, and that was on full display this past week. He is eager to learn and improve, showing it not through his words but through his actions every day. He sets the tone for the defense each week in practice, and that same intensity carries over into games. Eddie brings a relentless attitude and energy that drives the entire defense, consistently pushing himself and his teammates to be better. His work ethic extends beyond the football field, as he applies that same discipline and intensity to his schoolwork. As an exceptional student athlete and only a sophomore, Eddie holds himself and his team to an incredibly high standard and approaches the game with a never satisfied mindset. Eddie's relentless approach has produced remarkable results, recording over 10 sacks across back to back weeks, including an outstanding 6.5 sack performance this past week. He has already broken Lakota Tech High School's single game and single season sack records. The statistics are impressive, but what stands out most is the impact his effort and leadership have had on the entire team. His energy and commitment have helped lead the program to its first three game winning streak in school history. Eddie is a tremendous example of what it means to be a dedicated student athlete, and his combination of talent, discipline, leadership, and relentless effort makes him an exceptional young player with a very bright future. Eddies efforts last week led to 6.5 Sacks / 3 TFL's / 2 Solo Tackles / 4 QB Hurries / 2 Receptions 29 yards & 1 Touchdown.” Eriq Swiftwater Lakota Tech HC Honorable Mentions: Jackson Simon (Gettysburg), Devin Enander (Hitchcock-Tulare), Chris Bass (Platte-Geddes) @RiddellSports @sdfbca @domehats
