I think the biggest problem is the abstract is presented without context, the most important of which is the title. This makes it clear they are talking about women in academia. Without that context it is like the reader has been parachuted into a foreign land without a map.
The PPE scandal is possibly the most shameful in the modern era.
* Huge waste of money
* Substandard PPE supplied
* Inflated prices charged
* Unnecessary delays
British firms were ignored so that Tory cronies could maximise profits.
Replying to @Rik_Chin
The government ignored established UK PPE suppliers as far back as April 2020, in favour of the VIP lane which provided late, useless and expensive PPE.

The more parochial Americans like Jennifer Arcuri are unlikely to understand how trusted the BBC is worldwide... except that it is also highly respected in America (second only to the Weather Channel).

ALT By this measure, The Weather Channel persists as the most trusted news source, as it was in 2022, 2023, and 2024: Americans are 49 percentage points more likely to call The Weather Channel trustworthy as they are to call it untrustworthy — up from +43 last year. Like last year, the Weather Channel is followed by two public broadcasters: the BBC (+26) and PBS (+25).

Your Idea of recursive questioning made me think of socratic inquiry. I asked Grok how Socrates might have conversed with you on the subject of, "How can you improve your writing". This resulted in a long but interesting conversation. Grok summed it up this:

@DaveShapi I know you are well read and knowledgeable about issues outside of IT, so I wonder if you're familiar with 'consciousness as a controlled hallucination' and if can provide a different perspective on AI?

Both.
The big question is 'progress' to where?
A utopian world of plenty, free from famine, poverty and disease?
Or a dystopian hellscape driven by the whims and weird beliefs of billionaires with planet-sized egos, arrogance and overconfidence.
Replying to @meiselasb
.@meiselasb will Trump kickstart a cycle of rising prices, falling demand for goos and services, and reduced labour demand in the US - leading to a deep depression?
If so will there be contagion and a world wide recession?

I was wrong - but it turned out nice again.
