Preparing for severe weather starts well before the rain. SoCalGas teams recently came together for an El Niño tabletop exercise, working through potential scenarios involving heavy rain, flooding, erosion, access challenges and impacts to critical infrastructure. The exercise is one part of our year-round preparedness efforts, helping teams test plans, strengthen coordination and identify potential challenges before severe weather occurs. It’s all part of preparing our operations, equipment and personnel to help maintain the safety and reliability of our natural gas system and support the customers and communities we serve.

Despite great progress, nearly 60% of accidental strikes to underground utility lines in 2025 happened because 811 was not contacted before digging started. 🛑 This highlights one of the most preventable causes of damage to buried pipelines. Always make the free call to 811 before you pick up a shovel. Read more: bit.ly/4fPElb2 #811 #Safety #FreeService #HomeownerTips #SoCalGas

#NationalSafetyMonth is a great reminder that underground utility pipelines can be anywhere. Even a simple digging project around your home can cause serious injury, property damage, or loss of utility service. Always contact 811 before you dig! bit.ly/4iCEZY2
