Second chances change lives. At our High School Equivalency Graduation Ceremony, we honored individuals who chose perseverance over setbacks and opportunity over circumstance. Each graduate represents determination and the belief that it’s never too late to move forward.

The older I get, the more I realize your energy creates your reality. Give your energy to stress, complaints, and negative people, they will grow. Give your energy to ambitions, gratitude, and positive people, they will grow. Your energy is your destiny. Choose wisely.

Perhaps the biggest life hack is ignoring all the shortcuts and hacks and simply showing up, getting started, nailing the fundamentals, staying patient, and giving yourself a chance.

The older I get, the more I realize that life will test you with the same challenge until you learn the lesson. The same fight in every relationship. The same burnout in every job. The same regret in every missed chance. Until you do the inner work, the outer world won’t change.

Nothing you do has to make sense to anybody other than you. Remember drawing as a kid? Your life can be just as ridiculous and creative. Plant random trees. Put spikes on everything. Ride the dragon. Stand atop the mountain. Add a pirate ship to the pool. Surround yourself with animals. Include an airplane whenever possible. Picture yourself in a castle. What's the point of creating the life that you desire if it's not a little bit hard to believe?
