🚧 14 STREET SW: SATURDAY CLOSURE 🚧
Repairs are progressing faster than expected, and all lanes could reopen as early as Saturday evening.
Before that happens, a FULL SOUTHBOUND CLOSURE near 75 Avenue SW is required on Saturday, October 24, starting at approximately 7 a.m.
➡️ Please use alternate routes.
One southbound lane is expected to reopen around midday. Backfilling and paving will follow, with all lanes expected to reopen Saturday evening.
These times are estimates and may change as work progresses. Please allow extra travel time and follow posted signs.
Thank you for your patience, and to the crews working extended hours to complete these repairs safely
One year ago today, the residents of Ward 11 put their trust in me to represent them at City Hall. I remain grateful for that opportunity and mindful of the responsibility that comes with it.
The best part of this first year has been connecting with neighbours across our communities - hearing your concerns, learning from your experiences and working together to make Ward 11 an even better place to call home.
My focus remains on the basics: reliable city services, safe neighbourhoods and responsible spending of your tax dollars.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out, stopped to chat or stepped up for our community. There is plenty of work ahead, and I’m honoured to keep doing it on your behalf.
🚧 14 STREET SW TRAFFIC UPDATE 🚧
Watermain repairs near 75 Avenue SW are leaving just ONE northbound lane and ONE southbound lane open.
➡️ Please use alternate routes wherever possible to help reduce congestion. If you must travel through the area, allow extra time, follow posted signs and slow down around crews.
Crews made significant progress over the weekend and are continuing to work extended hours. The repair requires careful excavation because the damaged pipe is close to a major feedermain.
Work is expected to continue into the week of October 26, with the completion date still uncertain.
I know these lane closures are frustrating. Thank you for your patience while crews work to complete the repairs safely.

I’ve been saying it since 2021: City Hall needs to focus on core services. Needs before wants.
This video is from my 2021 campaign. Five years later, my priorities haven’t changed: reliable infrastructure, safe communities, and respect for your tax dollars.
With budget decisions ahead, I hope this Council will finally make the tough choices to put those priorities first. That means funding the essentials and being willing to say no to spending we simply cannot justify.
That’s what I’ll keep pushing for.
🚧 WARD 11 TRAFFIC ALERT: 14 STREET SW 🚧
Watermain repairs near 75 Avenue SW are scheduled to begin today, October 16, and continue through October 29. The timeline may change depending on conditions encountered during repairs.
Expect lane closures and reduced speeds in BOTH directions on 14 Street SW between 75 Avenue SW and Heritage Drive SW, including impacts to turning lanes at Heritage Drive.
➡️ Please use alternate routes wherever possible. If you need to travel through the area, allow extra time, follow posted signs and slow down around crews. See the attached City maps for traffic impacts during each repair stage.
For Eagle Ridge residents: temporary water service is being installed to support the community and Heritage Park. Reduced water pressure and periodic outages may occur. Water wagons will be available as a precaution, and residents are encouraged to reduce water use during repairs.
Rockyview General Hospital will not be affected by this work.

I look forward to hearing from you!
I voted and you should too. Our last municipal election had a turnout of just 39%. This referendum has been talked about extensively, everywhere. The only thing that matters is your individual vote, so go make it count. Go to map.elections.ab.ca to find out where to vote.
Happy Thanksgiving, Ward 11! 🍂🦃
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what we’re grateful for, and I’m especially thankful for the opportunity to represent the residents of Ward 11.
I’m grateful for the conversations, the community spirit, and the many people who dedicate their time and energy to making our neighbourhoods better places to live.
Whether you’re spending today with family, friends, or enjoying some well deserved downtime, I wish you a safe, relaxing, and happy Thanksgiving!

🚗 A quick reminder for Ward 11 residents travelling on Macleod Trail:
I see people making U-turns at the lights every day, and almost every day I see police pulling drivers over for it. A little awareness could save you a ticket and help keep officers available for other calls.
U-turns are prohibited at intersections with traffic lights unless a sign or signal specifically permits them.
That applies even when you have a green left-turn arrow, the road is clear, or there is no “No U-turn” sign posted.
This is an Alberta-wide rule under section 30(b)(ii) of the Use of Highway and Rules of the Road Regulation under the Traffic Safety Act.
Missed your turn? Take a safe, legal route back to your destination. Thanks for helping keep our roads safe!
Calgary’s next budget will affect your household and the services you rely on. I want to hear what matters most to you.
Yesterday’s headlines about a potential 15% increase in municipal property tax revenue for 2027 raised understandable concerns. These are preliminary planning figures, and the final budget and tax increase have yet to be approved.
I ran on prioritizing core services, and that remains my focus: police and fire protection, well-maintained roads, and reliable water infrastructure. We need to properly fund the essentials, maintain what we own, and respect residents’ ability to pay.
That means asking tough questions about spending, finding efficiencies, and making sure investments deliver clear value.
Please join me at my Ward 11 Budget Town Hall ahead of November’s budget deliberations. I want to hear your thoughts:
• Which services should receive the highest priority?
• Where could the City reduce spending or deliver better value?
• What needs attention in your neighbourhood?

CORE. SERVICES.
City Council is looking at approving the LARGEST property tax hikes in decades: 15% in 2027, 10% in 2028, 7.6% in 2029 and 6% in 2030.
This is simply UNACCEPTABLE.
There needs to be a huge shift in priorities.
Focus on infrastructure, public safety, and core city services. We need to make cuts in all areas that are not core responsibilities of municipalities.
I will be advocating for and proposing spending cuts as we get closer to the budget deliberations.
Many members of council ran on fiscal responsibility, it's time to keep our commitment to Calgarians and focus Calgarians tax dollars on needs, not wants.

We might not all agree on things and you might not agree with all of us but we all get along and that’s saying something.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us last night for our Ward 11 Open House. It was great to see so many residents come out, ask questions, share their ideas and connect directly with our office and City of Calgary representatives.
I’m grateful to all of the City teams who joined us and took the time to speak one-on-one with residents about the services and issues that matter in our communities.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who stopped by. Hearing directly from residents is incredibly valuable and helps our office better understand what’s working, where there are concerns and what we need to keep advocating for at City Hall.

There have been many questions from residents regarding the history of the City of Calgary's legal actions related to Ecco Recycling. To help inform the public, City Administration has provided the following memo outlining past, current, and potential future legal actions involving the company.

The ECCO landfill fire is under control. So why are smoke and flames still visible?
This drone footage shows the scale of the incident, with the affected area spanning roughly 43,000 square metres, about the size of eight CFL football fields.
Landfill fires can burn deep below the surface for extended periods. As crews expose buried hot spots, periods of increased smoke and visible flames are expected and often indicate hidden fire is being reached and extinguished.
The fire remains confined to the landfill site. Crews continue using specialized suppression techniques, including applying water to hot spots and capping affected areas with soil to smother the fire and prevent re-ignition.
Significant progress has been made, and our priority remains reducing smoke impacts on nearby communities and fully extinguishing the fire.
