The Census has a constitutional purpose: to count the population accurately, not serve as a tool to advance a partisan political agenda.
The current Census system has been weaponized against American voters. In 2020, the Census Bureau used differential privacy, a process the Bureau claimed would protect privacy but actually deliberately distorted population data. Those figures were then used to draw congressional districts, raising serious concerns about accuracy and political representation. The Census also counts illegal immigrants when determining how many seats each state gets in Congress, giving states with larger illegal immigrant populations greater representation.
IT’S TIME TO DE-WEAPONIZE THE CENSUS AND BRING IT BACK TO ITS CONSTITUTIONAL PURPOSE.
CRA submitted a formal comment supporting the Census Bureau’s proposed reforms to residence criteria, congressional apportionment counts, and demographic questions. We're also urging the Bureau to go further by permanently eliminating differential privacy and prioritizing accurate population counts over statistical manipulation.
These reforms are important to ensure our Census data is accurate and our political representation is fair.
The public comment deadline has been extended to November 2, 2026.

The National Park Service, together with its official nonprofit and philanthropic partner, @ynpforever, and @Blackstone Infrastructure portfolio company Tallgrass, announces the establishment of a $105 million Conservation and Stewardship Fund, creating a permanent source of support for the long-term stewardship of the world’s first national park. This is the largest single private gift in National Park Service history.
The fund will direct resources toward three priorities essential to Yellowstone’s long-term stewardship: advancing conservation and research to extend the reach and impact of the park’s scientific work; enhancing access and visitor experience through investments in infrastructure; and expanding opportunities for Wyoming students and community members to experience Yellowstone.
This latter effort will include the establishment of the Tallgrass WYld Yellowstone Initiative, named for the long-time Wyoming energy infrastructure operator with more than a decade of operations in the Cowboy State.
The National Park Service will retain full authority over park management decisions, and projects supported through the fund will be consistent with applicable laws, policies and park priorities.

Time for Lyndon Johnson's Daisy ad, interspersed with IRGC's "death to America", CNN "days from a nuclear weapon", and a mushroom cloud. The whining about gas or diesel or any other price needs to be countered with why we need to temporarily sacrifice. Over the past several decades, deliberation in the Senate has nearly ground to a halt thanks to toxic, partisan political culture- diminishing the Senate as an institution.
We need change.
That’s why @SenJeffMerkley & I announced a sweeping, bipartisan proposal that will help end the dysfunction, reduce the likelihood of shutdowns & omnibuses, & help get things done for the American ppl.

Sam Forstag lobbied for higher property taxes. While lobbying for the City of Missoula in 2023, Forstag supported SB 548, which would have eliminated limits on local property tax increases. Montana can't afford Forstag in Congress. Vote Aaron Flint.

SECRETARY RUBIO: We should marvel at what our forefathers carved out of this countryside. The story of our civilization is the greatest story ever known to man. And it began here, with the first men and women of the West. From them, from them we can rediscover the virtues, the courage, and the strength to confront the dangers that we face in our time.

While many big green groups attack the bipartisan permitting bill, we firmly back it. Not despite being a conservation org, but because of it.
Good thread explaining why we support the bill.

There’s a conservation consensus that many of us have been fighting for for years- to not only keep public lands in public hands, but to fight to better manage those lands and for better public access to those lands. Thanks for the great endorsement! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I'm a retired Lt. Colonel. He's a lobbyist. My opponent was a paid lobbyist who lobbied FOR higher property taxes, and already told you he would have voted AGAINST the working families tax cuts. FORstag is FOR higher taxes. He'd tax your tips, he'd tax your Social Security, and he'd strip away the child tax credit that benefits working families like mine.

We just released our statement of opposition to I-194, the ballot proposal known as the “Montana Plan".
I-194 is written so broadly that it threatens ordinary, unpaid speech about a local property tax levy or ballot measure.
And it asserts a dangerous claim that the government may condition existence under the law on silence about elections.
