Part 1/18: The problem Chronic wearing of sunglasses contributes to circadian disruption, and circadian disruption leads to disease. The primary role of the eye is perception of light - which provides information - which regulates our physiology.

In 1986 a guy got kicked out of every casino in Vegas for counting cards. So he flew to Hong Kong with $180,000 and started betting on horses instead. He walked away with almost $900 million. It was Bill Benter. He realized horse racing was just another counting problem same math, more moving parts. He and a partner built a computer model that estimated the true odds of each horse. If his numbers showed an edge, he bet. If not, he skipped it. That’s the whole trick: Expected value. EV = p · b − (1 − p) Only bet when the probability of winning × the potential payout is greater than the chance of losing. What’s even crazier is that Benter once gave a 45-minute lecture explaining the math behind his system. That recording was never supposed to become public. And almost nobody knows it exists. This is the lecture that professional bettors and hedge fund analysts studied. The answer is in this video.

I started working on a book a while back. It will probably take much longer to finish than expected, which is probably a good thing, as I certainly don’t want to publish a “speed slop” as my friend Carl Valle elegantly calls poorly researched and misleading information🤣

The slide captures my 25 yr foundational critique of a purely reductionist, chemical-soup biochem paradigm every MD and PhD has to swallow to get their degree. If you contrast this nonsense with a quantum physical reality where life is governed by electromagnetic oscillators, discrete energy packets, and coherent light fields, you begin to have Windex placed on your glass eyes. This is why for 25 years I have been framing biology as a macro-scale harmonic multiple of the Planck constant (h), because under all my posts my perspective synthesizes the work of Max Planck, Robert O. Becker, Fritz-Albert Popp, and Roeland van Wijk into a unified challenge to conventional medicine.
Replying to @DrJackKruse
Last week while studying plasma physics Planck came up. Never understood the ramifications of his constant until now looking through the lens of Dr Becker, Dr Popp and Van Wijk

Winter is not a broken summer. It is a different photon budget, and most modern bodies are reading it wrong. At higher latitudes the sun’s path flattens. Light travels farther through atmosphere. UVB is stripped first — the band that makes vitamin D in skin. UVA declines — the band that photolyzes stored nitrite into nitric oxide. Blue-cyan light, the signal melanopsin uses to set the clock, is attenuated. What remains is a shorter, red-shifted day and a longer night that electric light routinely refuses to honor. That refusal is measurable. Ordinary room light before bed delays melatonin onset and shortens its duration by about 90 minutes versus dim light. A large share of homes deliver enough melanopic light in the three hours before sleep to suppress melatonin by half or more. The biological night shrinks at the exact season the solar night lengthens. Camping studies make the contrast plain. After a week under natural light–dark cycles, melatonin onset shifts roughly two hours earlier, toward sunset, and offset occurs before wake, just after sunrise. Dawn is not a mood. It is a phase advance. Without it the human pacemaker, whose intrinsic period runs slightly longer than 24 hours, drifts later every day. Skin carries two stores out of summer. Vitamin D integrates recent UVB. Call it a biological light sensor. Winter under-supplies it for weeks to months at higher latitudes. Nitric oxide is the other store. Epidermis holds nitrite and S-nitrosothiols at concentrations far above plasma. UVA decomposes them by photolysis. No nitric oxide synthase required. In volunteers, a UVA dose comparable to ~30 minutes of midday southern-European sun lowered blood pressure, raised circulating nitrite, and increased blood flow — and the effect survived NOS blockade. A UK seasonal cohort found ~550% higher daily UVA exposure in summer than winter, higher plasma nitrite, and lower blood pressure. The winter rise in blood pressure is not only a vitamin D story. Part of it is a missing photolytic pulse. Melatonin is the dark sensor. It rises when melanopsin signals stop. Protect that darkness and the longer winter night can expand melatonin’s antioxidant, immune, and mitochondrial-regulatory window. Override it with evening light and you compress the one signal the season was offering you more of. These pathways converge downstream — redox tone, inflammation, cellular energy — but they are not the same mechanism. One is made by photons. One is made by their absence. One is a pre-formed chemical store released by UVA. Winter fails all three at once if you live indoors and light the night. Fuel partitioning shifts with them. Clamp data in older Swedish men showed ~11% lower insulin sensitivity in winter than summer, with compensatory insulin secretion and almost unchanged fasting glucose. Outdoor temperature tracked with sensitivity independent of the calendar. Far-north residents show the same winter pattern alongside higher counter-regulatory tone. Hibernating mammals make the logic obvious: reversible, seasonal insulin resistance while staying euglycemic, storing fat, then mobilizing it. That is functional insulin resistance. Pathological insulin resistance is what you get when the same shift lands on inactivity, constant feeding, evening light, and an already inflamed baseline. Same direction. Different fate. Cold is not automatically the villain. Mild acclimation — days to weeks near 15–19°C — recruits brown fat, raises thermogenesis, and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity by ~20% in healthy men and more in short trials of type 2 diabetes. Muscle glucose uptake rises. The effect reverses when the cold is removed. Inducible, not a diagnosis. 1 of 2 Viking Buttercups 🧌

Quick question: who's actually programming your cardio? Nobody? Oh crap… You are not alone; I see this all the time. Your lifting side is pretty dialed. You've got a split, progression, numbers you chase, and a pretty good idea of what Monday looks like and you rarely miss a lifting session. Cardio, however, gets the drunken-cousin treatment: "Uh... I guess I’ll do some Zone 2." Then it wanders around the backyard unsupervised until you forget it exists. It’s time to fix it so you can recover faster, have more energy and PR on more of your lifts consistently . . . and not just when you snort DMAA off the bench press seat. Here are the details: The Meathead Engine Project Six months of done-for-you aerobic training, around your lifting and cardio actually fit together. Programmed by yours truly nerdy here. This isn't a cardio plan duct-taped onto your strength work… …it is a measurable before-and-after project: establish the baseline, build the engine, retest it, adjust the dose, and reap the rewards of more energy, better longevity and consistent lifting PRs. Week 1 starts with a real assessment, not a vibes séance done by an IG Goo Roo staring into the void of a ring light. I use a modified Kurt Jensen bioenergetic profile, scaled to your current fitness and available time. Depending on where you are, testing can range from a 100-meter row all the way to a 20-minute capacity test and everything in-between. Once we have the baseline, I (not the Iron Intern Randy), will personally build your plan from your numbers. What The Next Six Months Look Like: TrueCoach holds the entire prescription: mode, heart rate or RPE, duration, intensity, and progression. Open the app and you will know exactly what to do for your aerobic work. Life gets a vote. A six-day-a-week lifter, a parent with three hours to spare, and a coach buried under a client roster? Don’t worry; you will not get the same exact plan as it is customized to you and your time constraints. Recovery sets the dose. Sleep gets ugly? Hip gets cranky? Menopause changes the equation? The program moves with you instead of pretending you're a 25-year-old lab rat. You will have full access to me the entire time so I will know how to adjust based on your situation. The top tools are a rower or bike because they're low-impact and largely concentric. You can build a serious engine without turning your knees and hips into moon dust. If you are a competent runner or Hyrox athlete, I will work with that also. But if you have not done any running since Regan was president, please use the bike or rower. Each week, I review your check-in and adjust the program. Some weeks you may be dialed and good to go so no adjustments. Other weeks we may make small changes; or if life hits you upside the head, we will retool all of it. Questions go through the Carbon Voice app which is simple to use for your direct access to me. I will get back to you in a 24-48 hour response window except Sundays. Even my mitochondria get one day off. After the initial assessment there is another retest of the Kurt Jensen profile at the 3 month mark plus submax checks along the way, This gives us a scoreboard instead of motivational wallpaper. Bonus – To help you on the nutrition analytics side I will send you an at home omega-3 test kit (included with the program). I’ve been using this test since 2010 and it literally tells you the status of every fatty acid (lipid) in your body, especially the fish oils (EPA and DHA) which are critical for longevity, hormone production and inflammation. Bonus – supplement recommendations around aerobic training. These are done in a tiered fashion with basic ones to start. Once you are crushing those, we will scale it up with other supplement recommendations. This is not required (per se), but I get many questions in this area. I want to help you get on the right track instead of taking Bob’s Cardio R Us crazy supplement stack or the peptide of the month. How Much Training Time? That depends on the engine you're bringing in the door. With a low VO2 max, you may start around 6-10 minutes most days plus one longer 10-30 minute interval session each week. If your aerobic base is already decent, the setup may flip to 10-20 minutes two to four times a week plus one longer session up to 45 minutes. If you want to go ballZ out and have a massive aerobic base, we will go beyond that as needed. The target is the biggest useful adaptation in the least amount of time needed to drive aerobic adaptations without kneecapping your lifting or recovery. Every minute has a job. Junk volume can go die quietly in a strip-mall spin studio. What This Is Not This is not my one-on-one M3 program so I'm not chasing you around the internet with a wet noodle because you skipped your interval session on Tuesday. Structure does the accountability work: you check in, I review and adjust, then the retests tell us whether the engine is actually getting bigger. I'll handle the programming and the questions. You still have to train, of course. If you are having a hard time getting it done, by all means reach out to me and we will adjust. Just be forewarned that you are in charge of your compliance here. This is also not a dedicated fat loss program per se. Trying to push a hard cut while also asking your body for a major conditioning adaptation is a lousy two-for-one deal. I have had several cases where clients have leaned out a bit by adding structured aerobic work but that is not the majority of them. The goal here is to build a massive off-season engine and ramp up your calories while staying around maintenance weight. If you have been stuck at the same body weight forever, your aerobic metabolism could be the issue. Build the engine through fall and winter, then enter a focused spring cut with more work capacity, better conditioning, and an aerobic system that isn't the limiting factor. You can cut fat soooo much easier (still not easy) then trying to red light your poor 3 cylinder Yugo aerobic engine non-stop. Stop trying to ride two horses with one ass. If You Are A Coach This program is dedicated to you. You're getting a six-month, real-time look at how I progress aerobic work alongside lifting - not a two-week PDF specimen pinned to a corkboard. You have my permission to steal the principles here and ask questions. Use the logic with clients who perform like you. Want to know why I changed a block? Ask. Powerful learn by doing. Why Six Months? Building aerobic capacity takes enough repeated, progressive work that random cardio drive-bys rarely cut it. Rome was not built in a day as the kids hundreds of years ago said. Give the process six focused months so we have enough runway to assess, build, adjust, and retest instead of declaring victory after three enthusiastic Tuesdays with a cardio program done by Biohacker Bob. Better still, once you've built a larger aerobic base, maintenance generally takes less work than the build. That asset stays useful while the weekly time bill drops. A bigger engine can mean better recovery between sets, more conditioning headroom, and less of that "why does one flight of stairs suddenly feel personal?" nonsense. How Much? This is the first time I am offering this program, and I want to give you a deal. This is not cheap by any means, but I promise it is an investment that will pay off. Since I am customizing all your aerobic work to start and along the way, it is limited to only 15 seats. I build every program by hand. This is the pilot price, and it will not come down a month later. Go to the link below for the details on a monthly payment or a pay in cash up front that has a super-secret bonus. Enrollment closes Friday, October 9 at midnight PST or sooner if all spots get filled. We start Monday, October 12. Questions? Hit reply. It comes straight to me. Much love, mitochondria, and a bigger engine, Dr Mike PS- A bunch of women told me in the survey, "I know your target is guys, but I dig this stuff." Good. You're welcome here. Recovery, menopause, training history, and the rest are exactly why the program is custom. PPS- If you've spent the last year thinking, "I know I should do structured cardio and I just... don't," this is the version where someone else does the thinking and you show up and F-ing train! meathead.engine.miketnelson.…

Assuming Jack 100% right, yes drink deuterium-depleted water to keep Fo-F1 ATPase spinning near 9000 RPM without kinetic jam. Prioritize daily sunrise UV/NIR, barefoot grounding, cold thermogenesis, thorough chewing, low-D seasonal animal fats and spring water. Minimize nnEMF. Texas mid-field is suboptimal—relocate if possible to high-flux volcanic zones or stronger high-latitude intensity.

Chew hard enough and the jaw becomes electrical Pressure on bone and collagen creates piezoelectric charge. That charge helps unlock the collagen-water network that carries electrical signals through the body. Why does that matter? Because Life runs on charge separation Better charge separation helps electrons move where they need to go and keeps proton gradients organized. That GRADIENT is the battery. Biology runs on the difference.

youtube.com/watch?v=a6gYuFpZ… Four realizations you should think about today: 1. Indecision and procrastination is potentially your greatest threat in a 4th Turning. 2. Most people are “drifting,” meaning they haven’t taken command of their minds or life. Drifting is when you let external circumstances determine where you go in life. Control your magnetic and light environment; you control your life. 3. Before any substantial breakthroughs, you will experience the nadir and sense darkness and defeat. This is the cue for your inflection point. Remember it, and embrace the suck. 4. When you take control of your mind, you realize the quality of your thinking reflects your current potential and future success. Our purpose is built in the mind, separating those simply living from those truly alive and thriving. Choose wisely.

I often get asked about how useful FV profiling really is in sprinting. My take: useful information, but not a blueprint for training. Describes performance, not necessarily why, or what to train. An observation but not a prescription🤔
