Heartbroken by the loss of Adam Robinson and his family. I was an early customer and met him a few times at industry shows. I always admired his relentless, go-get-it spirit. His work helped my businesses and clients grow. Thinking of everyone impacted.

Their original company was called GetEmails. I came across their ads by chance in the e-commerce chatter. Had to try the concept, and it actually worked. It changed my perspective on emails and email scaling. I still carry the philosophy they pushed today.

Even after churning out, I still had ongoing conversations with their team. It was always insightful for both of us. One day, a random package arrived from Retention. A brand new pair of AirPods Pro, which I still use today.

My Grokbots built their own live office, modeled after mine. They even included my dog sleeping on the rug, which is exactly where he's lying right now. They put the code on the Unraid server and even connected to Tailscale, so it is available to me anywhere.

Zoomed in. Crazy the details it snagged from a photo and took it upon itself to add them in. So fun.

Gave Grok Bot a screenshot of my current home and auto insurance. Told it to price shop. It researched everything, compared the coverages, emailed my agent, and handled the whole conversation. Result: nearly $2k/yr saved, and higher coverages. Wild.

A client’s old WordPress site got hit with malicious code. I rebuilt it from the ground up and launched Tuesday. Rebuilt. Relaunched. Sometimes a security scare is what finally gets a stalled redesign moving.

AI daily driver, a timeline: ChatGPT: everything Claude: everything Now: Grok Bot runs my day, Claude writes the code, ChatGPT gets called in for design. Anyone else almost ghost ChatGPT?

I just replaced a development sprint with a conversation. I found a funnel gap, then used Codex to build and deploy an automation that identifies non-converting visitors, enriches them, syncs them to our CRM, and triggers follow-up. Marketing just became an engineering function

Logged about 500 miles for our family beach vacation. @comma_ai drove most of those in my Ford Raptor. Some stretches of 45+ minutes without ever touching the wheel or brakes. Such impressive technology.

Randomly found @MikeCalcara via X algo. Now I see him in TinyMoney. So cool. P.S. Your X link on your site has the wrong username.

Heading off for the first day of T-Ball practice with my son. Oh yeah, I signed up to coach. Wish me luck.

Multiple 100°+ days ahead in NC, and I’ve never been happier we went all in on the pool and pool house. Shade, cold drinks, and a quick dip whenever we want. No need to leave the backyard to feel like we’re on vacation.

One of the most unexpected ways I use AI is for cooking. I’ll take a photo of my fridge and ask what to make. It gives a marinade. Then I ask how to slice the meat “against the grain,” and it shows me. It’s like having a personal chef and cooking coach in my pocket.

Here it is showing me how to cut. I was super amazed that it took my photo and drew these lines on it.

One of its own recipes from a photo of my fridge. Pickled jalapeño marinated chicken thighs. Previously, I'd always used chicken breasts. Oh, what I've been missing..

Just connected my doorbell camera to AI, and now it understands my front yard better than I do. It doesn't say "motion detected." It says things like: 📦 “A FedEx driver who appears to be middle-aged is placing a white envelope at your doorstep.” 👨‍👧 “An adult and two children are leaving the house. One child has a backpack, the other is holding a cup.” 💧 “Sprinklers just turned on in the front yard.” And it’s learning fast. 🚌 Day 1: “A bus drove by.” 🚌 Day 5: “A yellow school bus drove by.” 🚌 Today: “A yellow CMS school bus number 7 drove by.” (Yes, it read the writing on the side.) What started as a nerdy side project has turned into real-time context from a simple camera. Screenshots below 👇

Our newsletter can only reach 4,349 people. That’s the total population of our Charlotte neighborhood. Yet over 70% are subscribed, and we consistently see 60%+ open rates, even with iOS privacy changes. This isn’t some marketing masterclass. It’s just useful, consistent info sent to people who actually care. Each month, I help lead our Plaza Midwood eNewsletter. No paid ads. No hacks. Just updates on events, city issues, lost dogs, and everything in between. What it drives: ✅ Real engagement ✅ Repeat opens and clicks ✅ Volunteers, donations, and packed local events This past Friday, my backyard was full of neighbors connecting and making memories. It’s been one of the most rewarding projects I’ve worked on. Not because of reach. Because of relevance. In marketing, it’s easy to chase numbers. But often, the most effective list is the one where every subscriber actually cares and pays attention.

My wife and I opened our home for the 2025 Plaza Midwood Home & Garden Tour, which is a local tradition that highlights the character and creativity of our neighborhood. Grateful to be part of it this year with my work on the PMNA board. Here's a look at a few of our favorite corners (briefly toddler- and golden retriever-free).

Every year we’d forget school closure days because the dates were locked away in a PDF. Today, I used ChatGPT to extract all 29 dates and ran a Google Apps Script to create calendar events, set 48-hour reminders, and auto-invite my wife so they showed up on her calendar too. It took 2 minutes. I’d never used Google Scripts before. Total game changer.
