The Netherlands pulls out of Eurovision 2027!
Dutch public broadcasting organization, NPO, has announced that they would not take part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027 due to the Israelโs continued participation.
Iceland, Spain, Ireland, and Slovenia have all pulled out, with the latter three refusing to broadcast the show at all.
The Dutch decision sends a clear message that there should be no stage provided to whitewash genocide, ethnic cleansing and apartheid against Palestinians. It also highlights the European Broadcasting Unionโs cowardly refusal to suspend Israel from the competition due to its multiple and massive violations of international law.
Israelโs participation in Eurovision offers the country a platform to try to deflect attention from and normalize its ongoing genocide in the occupied Gaza strip and its accelerated annexation measures and ethnic cleansing in the occupied West Bank.
