Hey @grok, did F-35 military jets momentarily do a flyover of the Epstein press conference in DC and drown out the survivors and their supporters who were trying to speak?
The flyovers will continue until morale improves.

Interesting
The governor-elect of Texas, Gina Hinojosa, has explicitly said that all currently permitted datacenters in Texas will be allowed to finish construction. This essentially covers all of the 2027 and likely well into 2028. She is going to pass laws that ensure that all *newly* permitted datacenters going forward for delivery in 2028/2029 will pay taxes, commit to no increase in power prices for consumers, don’t impact water availability for people, be constructed with union labor and give “Texans a seat at the table.” Sounds reasonable. She doesn’t want to lose a lot of good blue collar jobs and property taxes for small towns in rural Texas. Datacenter commentary starts at 6:30 in this interview. Also attaching her official campaign position from her website in the next post. Sidenote: After watching a bunch of her speeches and interviews, I do think she is a political talent and probably has a future in national politics. youtu.be/D-T6H3b8ZeE?is=mEWu…

The governor-elect wants $17 billion from the Rainy Day Fund for one-time $1,500 checks. Texas saved that money for hard times, not a campaign promise. The Senate is still Republican, so it goes through the Legislature first. Permanent property tax relief beats a one-time check.

I woke up in a red state on Tuesday and a blue state on Wednesday because of the egregious errors of this administration. We now have two years to right the ship or it’s 6 Ketanji Brown Jacksons on the Supreme Court and America is over. So you can take your “disappointment” and shove it somewhere.

Your turning into a disappointment Kelly. Use to really enjoy your show but done with it given your Trump bashing. Given u believe the wsj.com is quite concerning. Thought u were better but u and Buck Secton are now apparently the same person minus his Eddie Munster looks and your height.

The Florida vaccine study they called junk just cleared peer review. 1.47 million matched adults. Same neighborhood, same month, same kind of clinic. The only real difference was which vial they got. Over 12 months, Pfizer recipients died at higher rates than Moderna recipients on every measure. Most of the gap wasn't COVID.

People need to burn this map into the back of their head.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is a 2016 pre-election hypothetical map by Ste Kinney-Fields (using FiveThirtyEight data), not actual results or current data. 2016 exit polls showed less extreme patterns; 2024 exit polls show Trump gains with Hispanic & Black men. 🚨WHAT?! A study discovered fluorescent CARBON NANODOTS inside Coca-Cola and Pepsi that cross the BLOOD–BRAIN BARRIER. The findings emerged after the Gates Foundation began investing in both PepsiCo and the world's LARGEST Coca-Cola bottler — a stake now valued at $660 MILLION The nanoparticles are about 5 nanometers wide, composed of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, with GRAPHITIC structural features. When administered to mice, the carbon nanodots invaded multiple organs, including the brain, heart, liver, kidneys, and lungs. Similar carbon nanodots are being engineered for medical imaging, drug delivery, and cancer therapy. One possible explanation is that they formed during high-temperature processing of sugars and caramel coloring. Alternatively, carbon dots can be deliberately manufactured through chemical synthesis, using controlled heating, carbon precursors, and surface modifications to produce nanoparticles with specific properties. The researchers could NOT establish the particles' exact origin.

Understand the implications of what happened in Texas last night. Gina Hinojosa has called on Gov. Abbott to end state & local cooperation with ICE & she can order that on day one. Hinojosa voted against the 2017 SB 4 as a TX state rep. The bill was essentially a sanctuary cities ban and required TX law enforcement to cooperate with ICE detainers. She then voted against another SB 4 in 2023, which made it a state crime to cross illegally into Texas. Should there be another border crisis in coming years, there will likely be no resistance from Texas at the border. No Texas DPS, no TX National Guard, no razor wire or water buoys, and no Operation Lone Star, which Hinojosa called a “dog and pony show” and “political theater”. Remember when 15,000 Haitians surged illegally into Del Rio, TX in 2021 under the international bridge? That was only stopped because Texas DPS responded on Abbott’s orders and physically blocked further crossings by lining up their cruisers to form a wall. The Biden Border Patrol was caught off guard and offered almost no resistance, except for some horseback agents who were falsely slandered for “whipping”. Additionally, because Republicans failed to pass any legislation codifying President Trump’s border security measures, if Dems take the White House in 2028, that Dem president could, if he/she wants to, reverse every single Trump border security policy immediately upon taking office because they were all done at the executive level, and they can order Border Patrol to go back to a passive catch & release policy like we saw under Biden.

Let me tell you something absolutely BONKERS from last night’s midterms… Democrat Ericka Lomick just “won” Texas House District 93 despite being a convicted felon who suspended her campaign months ago. She pleaded guilty in 2011 to federal charges including mortgage-fraud conspiracy, bank fraud, and money laundering. Her sentence? 63 months in federal prison. On her candidate paperwork, she checked the box claiming she had not been finally convicted of a felony. After her criminal record surfaced in September, she suspended her campaign and stopped running. But Texas election deadlines had already passed, so her name remained on the ballot for both the regular general election and the special election. And voters still elected her by roughly 51–49%. Here’s the kicker: Under Texas law, a final felony conviction generally makes someone ineligible to hold office unless they’ve been pardoned or had their disabilities released. Meaning she can’t actually serve. Her “victory” simply creates a vacancy and triggers yet another special election. A convicted federal fraudster who quit campaigning still got elected to the Texas House. Let that absolutely sink in.

HOLY CR*P 🚨 Official Election Administration and Voting Comprehensive Report buried all the way on page 193 of the document shows Texas processed 2,900,357 new valid voter registrations between 2022-2024 without proof of citizenship Documented proof of citizenship like birth certificate, passport and naturalization papers is not required at the time of voter registration in Texas 56.5% of Texas voter registration were classified as “new valid registrations.” This is extremely suspicious that 55% of Texas voter registrations were “new”

I'm a Japanese guy, and I've been posting about America in English every single day. My Japanese followers are leaving. Fair enough. They signed up for a guy who wrote in Japanese. My mother asked me, "Why America?" I showed her a photo of a 72-ounce steak from Texas. She stopped asking. Here's what you'll find here: → One Japanese word at a time that you can actually use. (Eshaku. Itterasshai. Many more coming.) → True stories of the times America and Japan had each other's backs. → American heroes Japan has never forgotten. → Questions I've always wanted to ask Americans. (Shoes in the house: verdict still pending.) And since we just met, a first word for you: "Yoroshiku onegaishimasu." There's no English for it. You say it at the start of something new. Roughly: "I'm in your hands. Please be good to me. I'll do my best for you, too." So: yoroshiku onegaishimasu, America. 🙇 Drop your state below so I know who I'm writing for. 👇

My wife has taught high school in Tokyo for twenty years. Every year, a few of her students spend a year living with a family in America. When they come home, she asks each of them one question. "What do you miss?" She expects hamburgers. She almost never gets hamburgers. And these aren't old stories. Most of these kids came home in the last two years. "Every time I left the house, my host mom said, 'Text me when you get there.' In Japan, nobody needs to know where I am. In Ohio, somebody always did." (Mina, 17, Ohio) "If you walk toward a door, an American will hold it open. Even if you are very far away. So you have to run. I ran to so many doors." (Itsuki, 16, Georgia) "My host brother screamed on the floor of a grocery store. A stranger walked by and said to my host mom, 'You're doing great, Mama.' She almost cried. I didn't know strangers were allowed to say that." (Aoi, 17, Texas) "We went away for the weekend and left our trash can at the curb. When we got back, it was by the garage. Nobody said who. My host dad said if it had been there one more day, the neighbor would have knocked." (Haruto, 16, Minnesota) "A car got stuck in the snow in front of our house. Four men came out of four houses. Nobody called them. They pushed, the car drove away, and they went back inside without saying their names." (Ren, 17, Michigan) "Every American has jumper cables. Maybe half of them know which clip goes where. The other half help anyway." (Shin, 16, Montana) "In July, my host family put a cooler on the porch. Cold water, snacks, and a sign: 'For our delivery drivers. Thank you!' I asked if they knew the drivers. They said no." (Nanami, 16, Arizona) "Downtown, there are banners on the lampposts. Photos of soldiers from the town. Some old, some very young. My host grandpa walked me down the street and told me every name." (Yuna, 16, Iowa) "I got a C-plus on my first test. My host dad said, 'I'm proud of you,' and put it on the fridge. In Japan, nobody is proud of a C-plus." (Takeru, 17, Pennsylvania) Then the quietest girl in the class raised her hand. Sora. Seventeen. Missouri. "Nobody asks me 'home safe?' anymore," she said. She was wrong. In September, there was a typhoon warning for Tokyo. At 2 a.m., Sora's phone lit up. It was her host mom. In Missouri. Watching the weather in a country she had never been to. "Saw the storm. You home safe?" Sora told my wife she cried for a long time. Then she typed the answer she had typed a hundred times, from football games and friends' driveways. "Home safe." Her host mom wrote back one line. "Good. That's all I needed." My wife has asked that question for twenty years. Not one kid has ever said they missed how big America is. They miss how America says goodbye. And how it checks that you got home. So, America. You think you've lost something. You haven't. It's on a porch in Arizona. It's pushing a car in Michigan. It's awake at 2 a.m. in Missouri, watching our weather. You don't remember doing any of it. A kid in Tokyo will never forget.

If you don't mind, I'd like to add something that serves more as a public service announcement. Everyone who is not familiar with Houston, this map can double up as a crime statistics map and might help with anyone thinking about calling Houston/Harris County home. If your thing is strictly knives, consider the lighter shades of blue. If you're full gangsta and pew-pews are your thing, go dark blue. If you're family oriented and want your kids to get a good education, pink will work and red is better. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Four flights of stairs is a test cardiologists actually use. In a Spanish study of heart patients, slow climbers had almost three times the death rate of the quickest ones. Your fitness says as much about your heart as your lab results.
