Greg Maddux in Class A ball in 1985, long before the four straight Cy Young Awards and all the command compilations.
The scouting material tied to Dante Bichette makes the footage even better because everybody involved is still trying to become somebody.
Hall of Fame careers always look obvious in reverse. Clips like this remind you they once existed in minor league parks with scouting reports and projections.

Lazy, sensationalist headline here. The āDraftKings executiveā is a board of trustees member at the University of North Carolina, and we spoke to him in that capacity - one of the hundreds of universities Saving College Sports has engaged with. And of course we have talked to āinfluentialā politicians. How else would we help get the bill passed??

The most revealing part of this conversation between Jon Stewart and Jacob Coxon wasn't Coxon's warning about A.I. doom, but his description of A.I. utopia, and Stewart's incredulous response. Savings come from a reduction in:
- compute costs
- personnel-related expenses
- renegotiated key vendor contracts
- new highly capable, cost efficient executives

Knicks in 5...more decades? š¤Æ
āJust about every single Knicks development since they won the title last June ā remember that? They won the title? It was incredibly awesome! ā has been negative. And it has all been Jim Dolanās fault. Of course it has,ā writes Will Leitch.
One of the primary reasons team president Leon Rose and the rest of the Knicks brass were able to build the championship roster they did was that, for the first time really since he took over ownership of the team, Dolan stayed out of things.
Inevitably, that era has come to an end, writes Leitch. We saw the beginning of its demise during and after the Finals: There was Dolanās vibes-destroying invitation to President Trump to attend game three; his stupid fight with the mayor over watch parties outside MSG; his relentless megalomania at both the trophy presentation and the parade. All of that was essentially harmless, though ā Dolan was always going to put himself front and center once the Knicks finally broke through and act like their success was a testament to his leadership rather than a direct refutation of it.

Elon Musk runs a 5-step first-principles algorithm for any problem:
first, question and fix dumb requirements;
second, delete any part or step you can (if you're not adding back 10%, you didn't cut enough);
third, simplify and optimize what remains.
Only then do you speed it up, and finally automate it.
The order is critical : "the most common mistake of smart engineers is to optimize a thing that should not exist," so never optimize, accelerate, or automate something before trying to delete it.
